It is a solemn day in Igbuzo and across Delta State as the curtain falls on the earthly journey of a man many described as an oracle in politics — Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi. Today, he goes home to rest, a leader who, in the words of admirers, came, saw, and conquered.
The late Senator Nwaoboshi, who represented Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, leaves behind a legacy woven deeply into the political, social, and economic fabric of Anioma land and Nigeria at large. Revered as the “Oshimili,” the “Odogwu,” the voice of the voiceless, and a fearless oracle in politics, his passing marks the end of a defining chapter in Delta’s political history.
Yesterday, a solemn vigil Mass was held in his honour at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Igbuzo. The ancient town stood still as dignitaries, political leaders, traditional rulers, associates, and admirers gathered to pay their last respects.
It was truly a congregation of “who is who” in Nigeria’s political landscape — a testament to the enormous influence and relationships he built over decades of public service.
The atmosphere at the church was thick with emotion. Hymns echoed through the sanctuary as family members, friends, and political allies reflected on the life of a man who dedicated himself fully to service. Tributes described him as bold, strategic, compassionate, and unwavering in his commitment to his people. Many recalled his courage in defending the interests of Delta North and his readiness to speak truth to power.
Today marks the final rites — the day he will be committed to mother earth. Though his departure came without notice, leaving many in shock and disbelief, his admirers find solace in the belief that he has completed his divine assignment. For them, he has finished his race and returned to the blossomed hands of the Lord.
Senator Nwaoboshi lived a life of impact. From grassroots mobilization to national politics, he touched countless lives through empowerment initiatives, infrastructural projects, mentorship, and unwavering advocacy.
To many young politicians, he was a father and a political compass. To his community, he was a pillar. To his colleagues, he was formidable yet loyal.
His death is not merely the loss of a politician; it is the loss of a symbol — a man whose voice resonated beyond the chambers of the Senate, whose presence commanded respect, and whose influence shaped conversations in Delta State and beyond.
As Igbuzo mourns its illustrious son and Nigeria reflects on his contributions, one truth remains evident: though he may have left this sinful world, his legacy cannot be buried. The seeds he planted in governance, leadership, and human empowerment will continue to blossom for generations.
Rest in peace, Oshimili.
Rest in peace, Odogwu.
Rest in peace, fearless oracle of Anioma politics.
Till we meet again — and never to part.

Today, heartfelt tributes and warm felicitations flow from across Nigeria, Africa, and the wider world as Henry Chukwuma Ajudua marks another remarkable year — a birthday many describe not merely as a personal milestone, but as a celebration of visionary leadership and enduring generosity.
There was an outpouring of grief and reverence on today( Sunday)as the remains of former Delta North Senator, Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, touched down at Asaba International Airport from Abuja.

For two decades, the Ashinze Charles Obiodogwu Foundation has stood as a pillar of compassion, hope and humanitarian service in Oshimili North, Delta State and across Nigeria.
Founded 20 years ago with a clear and compelling mission — to put smiles on the faces of the people — the Foundation has steadily grown into a beacon of light for the vulnerable, the less privileged and the forgotten in society. From awarding scholarships to indigent students, donating boreholes to communities in need of clean water, building houses for widows and the homeless, to feeding the poor and paying school fees for students across various schools in Delta State and Nigeria, the Foundation’s impact has been both far-reaching and deeply personal.
For the Ashinze Charles Obiodogwu Foundation, humanitarian service goes beyond mere charity — it is about restoring dignity and rebuilding lives. Each borehole sunk is not just a source of water but a fountain of health and relief. Each scholarship granted is not just financial support but a bridge to a brighter future. And each house built is more than shelter; it is renewed hope.
Indeed, as beneficiaries testify, when ACO Foundation builds a house, it does more than raise walls — it restores dreams.
Speaking on the Foundation’s journey, the Chairman, Ashinze Charles Obiodogwu, emphasized that the driving force behind their work is compassion rooted in faith and service.
It was a moment of pride and celebration as the Civil Society Action Coalition for All (CSACEFA), Delta State Chapter, conferred the prestigious Grand Award of Patron on Pastor Idowu Daniel Okeze, the Odozi-Obodo of Igbuzo, in recognition of his outstanding philanthropic contributions to humanity.
The colourful ceremony, held at the Delta State Secretariat, attracted top dignitaries within the Delta State Civil Service, including commissioners and senior government officials. The atmosphere was charged with admiration and respect as attendees rose to their feet in a standing ovation during the citation of Pastor Okeze’s exemplary life and humanitarian record.
Although unavoidably absent, Pastor Okeze was ably represented by Dr. Pat Adigwe, who received the honour on his behalf. In his remarks, Dr. Adigwe expressed deep appreciation to the coalition for finding Pastor Okeze worthy of such a distinguished recognition. He noted that the award serves as further encouragement for the cleric and philanthropist to continue his unwavering commitment to uplifting the less privileged and supporting community development initiatives.
