Acho Nonyalim Giving back to his Community … Donates Text books,Note books, other educational materials to Students in Ibusa

By: Ike Philip Abiagom & Benson Nwoko

The true worth of a man is in the way he treats people who are absolutely in need. If you care about people in need, you are actually making a contribution to the development of the nation. We need to give life back to the people. We need to see how we can use the available resources for everybody; create opportunities for all and care, especially for those who are truly in need. The gap between the rich and the poor should be bridged. Those of us blessed with material resources need to share with others. We must strike a balance with our resources.” This is the Philosophy of Elder Onyeachor Nonyalim.

It is certainly impossible to gloss over the attributes for greatness of Elder Acho Nonyalim, the founding Chairman,Junic Group of Companies, the trail-blazing Real Estate mogul par excellence from Ibusa,Delta State. Acho’s rise to the top was not a one-step movement. It was a humble beginning for a humble man. The inter play of factors that would establish him as one of Nigeria’s reputable real Estate mogul shaped Acho’s principle and philosophy of life and business-humility, honesty and hard work. According to him, it had been part of his mission to give hope to the less-privileged students, noting that the writing and reading materials would help develop the pupils as well as assist indigent parents who may not be buoyant enough to purchase necessary books for their wards.

Elder Nonyalim stated that he is committed to taking drop – outs that are due to financial issues back to school and giving scholarships to street children or orphans who cannot continue with their education to further their education, ever since the initiative began some years ago.

He urged the Delta State government to emphasise the importance of reading in public schools, assuring that he would compliment and encourage more public schools to dedicate their time to learning.

He also called on other well-meaning Ibusa Indigenes’ to participate in equipping schools with needed materials, adding that his gesture will continue as long as God continues to bless him. Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi (SPON)

Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyeukachukwu Nwaoboshi(SPON), has congratulated Nigerians on the 64th anniversary of the country’s independence and for sustaining her status as a united and progressive country.
In a goodwill message to mark this year’s Independence Anniversary, signed by his SPON Media and Publicity, in Ibusa, Nwaoboshi also urged Nigerians irrespective of creed and tribe to continue to work for the peace, unity and stability of the country.
He also urged leaders – political, traditional, religious and business – to close ranks in order to initiate and implement ideas and strategies that would further develop the country and increase the standard of living of the citizenry.

Nwaoboshi said that the task for a greater Nigeria, is a collective responsibility of every citizen, just as he enjoined every citizen to believe in the project Nigeria and pray for peace and progress of the country.

It is apparent that the need for peace, unity and stability in our nation cannot be compromised. Our togetherness, abundant resources and diversity are our greatest asset. Therefore let us refrain from tendencies that tend to pull us apart.

He stated, “It goes without saying that there is hunger and despair in the land because of the high cost of living caused by inflation.

“There are not enough words to describe the pain and suffering many people are going through because of the ongoing fiscal and economic reforms.

“However, I want to say that these, too, shall come to pass. Every problem has an expiry date and this will not be an exception.

“So, I urge Nigerians not to give up. Tough times never last but tough people do.“This is why, it is necessary at this time in our developmental journey, that we must all redouble our resolve to make Nigeria take her rightful leadership position among her peers,” he said.

“As a nation, we must recommit to the principles of justice, equity and inclusion. We must harness our diversity, tap into our youth’s potential, and leverage our natural resources for the benefit of all.

“As we mark this important day, I encourage Nigerians to remain optimistic, resilient, and committed to our nation’s greatness, despite the odds. “With a common purpose, zeal and love for one another, we can overcome our challenges and build a prosperous nation of our collective dreams, where every citizen has equal opportunities to thrive.”

Coronation of 14th Asagba of Asaba : All Hail The New King

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

HRM Obi Prof Epiphany Azinge
Asagba of Asaba

As Delta State capital (Asaba) will officially witness the final traditional installation and coronation of the 14th Asagba of Ahaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi(Prof.)Epiphany Azinge,OON,SAN on the 5th October 2024,I join all sons and daughters of Ahabaland, including the residents of this ancient city in celebration.

Asaba is renowned for its unique traditional system, which has made succession to the throne a stress-free process(Democratic), contributing significantly to the relative peace in the land. Undoubtedly, Obi Azinge’s ascension comes with its own challenges, which I have previously referred to as human factors. Now, before Asagba is the developmental agenda of Ahabaland.

It is essential for my readers to understand that Asaba is not just an ordinary city; it is a megalopolis, that deserves a King with international influential status and a superlative iconic personality, of which Okilolo Ahaba fits into the shoes and Obi Azinge is willing and capable of working with Asaba people to overcome challenges facing the community from lack of adequate infrastructure, youth unemployment, healthcare deficiency, to educational shortcomings.

HRM Obi Azinge who is a Judge at the Commonwealth Arbitral Tribunal sitting in London, where he represents Nigeria and Africa has also been decorated with numerous national and international awards, the most treasured is Exemplary Performance award of OON by former Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan. He is the founder and senior partner at Azinge & Azinge,a law firm in Abuja, the 5th Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies from 2009 and 2014.

Obi Prof Epiphany Azinge had not only bagged some degrees in Law, he had also become a Professor of repute in the world. He has written dozens of books on Law and government. The sterling qualities of HRM Obi(Professor) Epiphany Azinge, SAN,OON, the indefatigable legal scholar and his benevolent activities towards the advancement of human development is top notch.

Obi Azinge climbed an ascension ladder of royalty as Okilolo Ahaba, spending years in royal learning through the ascension ladder. As I have highlighted in various write up, the years Obi Azinge spent climbing the ladder is a notable tradition of royal learning. He has been entrusted with numerous royal responsibilities, preparing him well for this significant role. While age will not pose a challenge to him, Azinge’s years of royal learning and the support of various administrative arms derived from the previous Asagba will ease his responsibilities.

It is also noteworthy that Obi Azinge understands how these royal administrative arms work. We can all recall how he stood before Asaba people at various quarters during his official declaration with a humble heart and bold vision, not as a mere individual but as a servant leader who is ready to dedicate his life for the betterment of our beloved community, Asaba and Anioma in general.

He is aware of the challenges facing his people but he believe that together they will overcome these obstacles and build a stronger and more prosperous Asaba Community as Delta State capital. He has been involved in the activities of the Council of Traditional chiefs. His deep involvement in these royal administrative arms over the years shows that he is not an outsider; he is well-prepared to deliver, especially with the support of these bodies.

In this new dispensation, I look forward to the new Asagba, with the cooperation of the Asagba-in-Council and traditional stakeholders, including the State Government for the development of Asaba as the capital of an oil rich state. Our expectations are high for the new Asagba, and I believe it is the duty of all sons and daughters, including the residents of Asaba, to support His Majesty as he ascends the final throne of our ancestors on the 5th October,2024 as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.

Long live the King.

Nna Agu! Nna Agu!! Nna Agu!!!
