Community Newspaper Publishers under the aegis of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN),Delta State Council has congratulated Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State on the 2023 governorship election in the state.
In a statement released and signed by the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Jude Obiemenyego made available to journalists, he described the Speaker’s victory as ‘Devine’ following the array of litigations from different opponents right from the party primaries which even dragged to Supreme Court that eventually gave him victory to participate in the just concluded 18th March, 2023 governorship and state house of assembly elections.

Comrade Obiemenyego noted that Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy Monday Onyeme backgrounds as Speaker for over six years and the accounting background of Mr. Monday Onyeme ,will add value to the leadership quality that the Okowa administration has already built in Delta State. Disclosed that with the Victory, Oborevwori has demonstrated unyielding boldness and determination to accomplish more on the M.O.R.E. agenda for all Deltans.

ACNPN is proud that as our Patron(Oborevwori) will do well. This is an amazing moment for us to celebrate you, because you have worked so hard to get to this position and with your wonderful legacies in the legislative chambers for eight years, everybody Deltans loves to be associated with you.
Comrade Obiemenyego, appealed to all well-meaning Deltans to support the administration of Oborevwori in sustaining the development stride of Governor ifeanyi Okowa when sworn in, May 29th 2023 so as to enable the next administration to consolidate on the infrastructural and human capital development achievements which have earned the State as one of the best in terms of development and empowerment of the citizens compared to other states in Nigeria.
This defining victory at the 18th March,2023 is not just a triumph for Rt. Hon. Oborevwori and his teeming supporters, but indeed a welcome victory for our great state, as it has revalidated and endorsed our stand that the election were free, fair, transparent, and very credible.

“As we look to the future, I assure everyone that we will continue to engage the public and government with our innovative ideas aimed at advancing societal reengineering to build a better Delta State. “Your campaign slogan of ‘M.O.R.E. agenda’ is one which encapsulates the whole yearning of the masses as the people expect you to replicate your performance in the State House of Assembly where you were a people oriented, visionary, pragmatic and above all, the fountain of empowerment in Delta State”, he said.

Comrade Obiemenyego also counseled him (Sheriff) that his brilliance and experience should not be eclipsed by greed and quest for selfish and personal aggrandizement because your emergence is a major pointer that politics today is tilting towards the people and it is also a pointer that when the right people are chosen to fly the Party’s flag, winning becomes seamless.

“Your Excellency, let your word be your bond. Let there be a positive difference seen and felt across the state. The best way to thank Deltans for this mandate is by giving it your best shot and delivering on your campaign promises.
I pray that God should guide and protect and give him wisdom to pilot the affairs of Delta State to do M.O.R.E. for Deltans especially in the area of employment generation and general improvement in the economic and social welfare of Deltans.”
