Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has officially reclaimed possession of his Guinea House property located in Apapa, Lagos State, following a court judgment that cleared him of all allegations and ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release the building.
The property, which had been under EFCC custody for years, was returned to the senator after the court ruled that there was no credible evidence to support claims that it was acquired through proceeds of corruption. The ruling effectively ended a protracted legal battle between the former lawmaker and the anti-graft agency.
Senator Nwaoboshi took formal possession of the Guinea House earlier this week, accompanied by his legal team and aides who were present during the handover process.
In his reaction, Senator Nwaoboshi expressed deep gratitude to God, the judiciary and Delta State government, Mostly His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State , Sheriff Oborevwori for standing by him throughout the ordeal . He said that during his incarceration, some government officials tried to encroach into the property(Guinea House )but thank God for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori intervention and support into the matter.
Nwaoboshi described the victory as a triumph of truth, law, and justice over falsehood and political persecution.
“This judgment is a clear vindication of my innocence. I have always maintained that I acquired all my properties legitimately. I thank God Almighty, the Nigerian judiciary, and everyone who believed in me. Justice may be delayed, but it cannot be denied,” Nwaoboshi said.
The Guinea House, situated in the Apapa Waterfront area of Lagos State measuring 7,724 Square meter, is one of the prime assets previously linked to Nwaoboshi during EFCC investigations into alleged financial irregularities. The court’s ruling has now reaffirmed his ownership and underscored the need for due process in all anti-corruption cases.
With this development, Senator Nwaoboshi is expected to resume full control of his business and personal activities, marking a new phase after years of legal and political battles.
