By: Ike Philip Abiagom

It’s my greatest pleasure and joy at this very moment to rejoice with our beloved wife, an easygoing- Socialite and a resourceful, hardworking woman of substance Mrs Mary Iwunor, on her special birthday occasion today.

Today is the birthday of great women, a woman of our dreams! Indeed a true definition of a GORGEOUS WOMAN. The whole world is celebrating a woman who is a perfect example of beauty and God fearing person. She’s the pillar that makes her family so strong, faith so firm and fear so ordinary. She is the embodiment of cerebral articulation, the epitome of intellection and breathtaking simplicity, the personification of undiluted humanness, the perfect example of leadership symbolism, the paragon of idealism, the soul humanity, the mirror of beauty ,the political amazon. Indeed, some women are born, some achieve leadership, some have leadership thrust upon them, while only very few have all three embedded in them.
Mrs Mary Iwunor is one of those very few good woman; a true woman,a woman of valour, the bringer of rain. In the gallery of great leaders and great women, she is without doubt, a rare masterpiece.

Mrs Iwunor is celebrating her birthday today and to put the epochal celebration in proper perspective, she attained the midpoint of life at the exciting peak and the proper prime of her mercurial powers where, poised like the bronzed champion, glowing flamboyantly in the golden flame of her decade, prepares herself to capture and conquer arguably, the one ultimate laurel for which her superlative gifts and brilliance clamour to be manifestly celebrated with maximum educational aplomb woven into the matrix of an intrepid homogeneous ubiquity.

A true mother, wife ,friend, sister, elegant, gorgeous and unblemished in the magisterial lithe and athleticism of folkloric Queen and heroine, soft-spoken, with clear, unfettered, excellent diction and oratory, her brilliant smile like sparkling sun radiating from crystal clear eyes. Mrs Mary Iwunor is down to earth and corporate-smart, from the various experiences of home-bred grooming, ivy league sojourns in decent family and the inspirational influence and unparalleled, unquantifiable tutelage from a respected family.

A woman of immense mettle and a completely detribalized human being with a profound depth of character, whose humility, devoid of discrimination, embraces all and sundry, she soars like an eagle and exudes reverence and integrity. A pragmatic woman full of benevolence, she gives hope to the hopeless, and welfare and succor to the poor and needy. To everyone who crosses her path, she is a light.she is a friend to all, a role model to the young, a helper to many and a visionary woman bubbling with the ideals of entrenching a united, peaceful, harmonious vision for her community and the world. Honest, transparent, Dependable, uncomplicated and full of wisdom, Mary Iwunor can change you effortlessly, with her soft spoken words.

Enjoy this day to the fullest! Happy birthday to you our pretty and GORGEOUS WOMAN.

Happy Birthday to an Exceptional Delta State Women Leader

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

Age may be a number but life is certainly a battle. And if the life is that of the urbane and personable the Delta State APC Women Leader, Hon. Deaconess Tina C. Okwudili, then life is not only a battle–it is a full blown war.Ever since She adorned herself as a soldier for good,She has had no reprieve from the unrelenting forces of evil. She is caught in the vortex of the eternal battle between good and evil.

Indeed, to those who know her up close and personal, Okwudili is an enigma: humble, self-effacing,industrious, practical, efficient by nature, diligent, always thinking about things She needs to accomplish or how to get ahead on her next assignment,a complete Capricorn,if you care to assess her by Zodiac sign. But in plain terms, She is a case of a woman who set out to always make a difference wherever she found herself. Not the kind of difference other women pursue to grandstand, but the type that impacts humanity and makes life easier for people. And of this, her track record is unassailable. A look back at her trajectory gives a chronicle of exemplary service to her community and a profile of pure patriotism from an individual.

Greatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged.”When one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Ralph Waldo Emerson handed down the above words of wisdom, those he had in mind were certainly the likes of Hon. Deaconess Tina C. Okwudili! .

it is certainly impossible to gloss over her attributes for greatness. She is the embodiment of cerebral articulation, the essence of unparalleled philanthropy, the epitome of intellection and breathtaking simplicity, the personification of undiluted humanness, the perfect example of business leadership symbolism, the paragon of idealism, the soul of humanity, the heart of warrior, a perfect woman. In the gallery of great leaders and women, She is without doubt, a rare masterpiece. Anyone who encounters her would love to associate with her for her candour, courage and forthrightness. As a human being, her humility and modesty is second to none.

Hon. Deaconess Tina C. Okwudili,She means different things to different people; to her party and children,She is a loving mother, while to us her admirers,She is known as the Digital Political Strategist but her detractors always erroneously see her as an obstacle because of her rising profile in Politics and acceptance by the grassroots.

Deaconess Tina is not only the Pride of Okwudili’s but also the Pride of the People of Oshimili North Local Government Area for whom She had waged countless political wars for and won virtually all, just like the Greek mythological Odyssey who fought and won difficult battles in History.Indeed the birthday celebration of this Political Strategist of our time had been useful and Resourceful for her service to humanity. Therefore today let me on behalf of Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi (SPON) Political Family join the rest of my beloved Ibusa kingdom in Oshimili North Local government Area of Deltans and Nigerians at large to celebrate our Political iconoclastic Women Leader,to thank Almighty God for adding another year to her life and to pray that God continues to bless her with robust health, protection, and enduring provision.Your Political reign shall bring prosperity and peace to Ibusa, Oshimili, Delta State and Nigeria in general.
Your legendary generosity and willingness to do good at all times is documented in the hearts of millions. That is why on your birthday, You deserves a toast and song, “Happy birthday to you…” Above all, You deserves a prayer from everyone who is on the side of truth in the eternal battle between truth and falsehood.

Happy birthday to the regent.

We’ll Reduce Prices Immediately We Start Lifting From Dangote Refinery – IPMAN

The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi has assured that the effect of the reduction of the pump price of fuel will get to consumers as soon as the group starts lifting the product from Dangote Refinery.

Recall that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its petrol pump price to N899.50k per litre.

The company stated this in a statement by its spokesman, Anthony Chiejina, on Thursday, stressing that the decision was meant to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season.

Maigandi in reaction to the development on Arise TV stated that since Dangote Refinery has reduced the pump price of fuel, it will definitely get back to the consumers.

He said, “We the Independent Petroleum Marketers, immediately we start picking up the product will change our price so that the consumers will enjoy the benefits.

Speaking on other changes to expect from the sector due to reduction in fuel price, he said, “Our major challenge before now has been the cost of the product. Transportation and other economic activities will change. You know that most of the commodities are dependent on transportation. So, if the price of the PMS reduces, the transportation cost will also reduce. Even the value of the naira will appreciate because if the price is down there won’t be any need of importing products. With this reduction, the price of fuel offered by IPMAN will be lower than any marketer.”

While speaking on how importation of fuel can be stopped completely, he said, “If Port Harcourt refinery is working and Dangote Refinery is functioning, and very soon as I learnt that the Warri Refinery will start functioning and Kaduna as well, I think there won’t be any need for importation. The consideration will be on how to start exporting the product which has even started. In other words we won’t be talking about importation of fuel anymore.”

AGF Faults Okpebholo On Suspension Of Edo LG Chairmen

Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN),Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, on Thursday, faulted Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State Governor for suspending the 18 local government chairmen in the State.

The LG bosses and their Vice Chairmen were suspended on December 17, 2024 by the Edo State House of Assembly at the instance of the governor.

Governor Okpebholo had predicated the suspension of the top LG officials on grounds of insubordination and misconduct, reason being that they did not submit their statement of finances to him.

Fileding questions from newsmen at a function in his office, the AGF said that it was only the Legislative Arm of local governments that can sack or place council chairmen on suspension.

Fagbemi submitted that under the current dispensation, local government chairmen cannot just be removed or suspended by any governor without following due process of the law.

“I am aware that since July 11, 2024, when the Supreme Court delivered a landmark judgment, local government administration has taken a new turn, different from the old order.

“At any rate, we are still studying the situation but before final reaction, it must be stated categorically and emphatically that for now, local government chairmen can only be removed through the legislative arm of the local government itself and not the State House of Assembly “, Fagbemi clarified.

Earlier in his remarks, Fagbemi said the public engagement session was organized to update citizens on the milestones achieved by his Ministry in the outgoing year and to receive invaluable feedback from all stakeholders for future improvements.

He stated that the event underscored the unwavering commitment of the Federal Ministry of Justice towards fostering transparency, inclusivity, and accountability in the administration of justice in Nigeria.

According to the AGF, the event highlighted the collaborative spirit, “as we work with stakeholders, through the Administration of Criminal Justice and Reforms Department (ACJR&D) and the Federal Justice Sector Reform Coordinating Committee (FJSRCC), of the Federal Ministry of Justice to deliver impactful reforms that address the needs and concerns of Nigerians”.

The justice sector, her said, has made remarkable progress in recent years, driven by the dedication and hard work of the departments and units of the Ministry, partners, and stakeholders.

PSC promotes over 8,000 police officers

In a monumental decision aimed at enhancing the professionalism and morale of the Nigeria Police Force, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted a staggering 8,053 senior police officers. The promotions were announced on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, after the Commission’s plenary session wrapped up days of rigorous evaluations and interviews.
The promotions, which cut across various ranks, represent a significant milestone in the careers of the officers and a testament to the PSC’s commitment to recognizing dedication and hard work.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Eleven Commissioners of Police (CPs) were elevated to the prestigious rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIG), while 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) moved up to the rank of Commissioners of Police (CP). Additionally, 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) advanced to the rank of DCP, and 57 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) were promoted to ACPs.
The promotions didn’t stop there. A total of 1,348 Superintendents of Police (SPs) ascended to the rank of Chief Superintendents (CSPs), with several names standing out for their exceptional service. These include Matilda Umiah Ngbaronye, a former Public Information Officer for the African Union Mission in Somalia, now serving as DPO Iponri, Lagos; and
Dpo Bariga police station, S p Godwin Okoloko A.  Competent Police officer, Anjuguri Manzah, DCO of Onne Port Division.
In the rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 876 officers were promoted to Superintendents. Among them are Umar Faruk Yesufu, ADC to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, and Ruth Danladi, an Admin Officer with the Crack Squad in FCT Command.
Even more impressive was the promotion of 5,829 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to DSPs. Names like Aidenojie Walter, Mahid Mauazu Abubakar, and Rosemary Egbo featured prominently in this category. Abubakar, a former PPRO of Gombe State Command, now serves with the 24 PMF Presidential Escort.
Spotlight on Service and Excellence
The promoted officers include some of the finest in the force, whose work spans both national and international assignments. Jesyca Gobum, a Police Adviser to the United Nations, and Regina Ugwu, a Platoon Commander with the African Transition Mission in Somalia, were among those recognized. Others, such as DPOs, commanders, and officers in specialized units like anti-cultism, cybercrime, and border patrol, also saw their careers take a leap forward.
Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations at the PSC, described the promotions as a bold step in strengthening the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force. “This is not just about numbers; it’s about recognizing excellence, dedication, and the selfless service of these officers in ensuring the safety and security of our nation,” he said.
A Pathway to Motivation and Excellence
This unprecedented wave of promotions signals the PSC’s commitment to building a motivated, capable police force ready to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges. For many of these officers, this is more than a rank change—it’s a call to greater responsibility and a reward for their tireless dedication to duty.
As the promoted officers don their new ranks, the nation looks forward to their continued service with renewed vigor and excellence. The PSC’s action reaffirms its role as a driver of professionalism and meritocracy in the Nigeria Police Force.

Gov. OBOREVWORI HAS HARMONIOUS WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH TINUBU – Ahon

Sir Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Governor of Delta State says Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is fully focusing on the governance and development of the state.

Ahon stated this  in Asaba while reaction to a report credited to one of the Executive Assistants, New Media, to the Governor, Mr Felix Ofou, in response to former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s recent diatribe on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at an APC event in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

The CPS, in the statement, frowned that a personal article written by Mr Felix Ofou was being mischievously and deliberately misinterpreted by a section of the media, adding that, contrary to perception, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had a harmonious working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ahon said, “the Governor has constantly urged Deltans and other Nigerians to continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, stressing that “if the President fails”, he, as a Governor, would also have failed”.

He said this was the same view Governor Oborevwori lucidly expressed at the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU event on Saturday 7th December, where he said, inter alia, “I want to appeal to Urhobo nation today, I am saying it here, I’m an Urhobo man and I’m Governor of Delta State.

“But I will tell you today whether you like it or not, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is supporting this administration. God has made him the President as God has made me the Governor of Delta State.

“So, as you are supporting me, support him because if he fails, I have failed, but by the grace of God, he will not fail and I will not fail.

“Mr President has appointed our sons and daughters into various positions. He did not appoint people from outside the state. God has given him victory and God has given me victory; you people should support us to succeed”.

Ahon added, “it is, therefore, imperative to state categorically that, as Chief Press Secretary and official spokesman of the Governor of Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori did not, and has never, expressed such views on Mr President’s economic policies.

“The general public is, therefore, advised to jettison such misleading reports as they do not reflect the views of the Governor who is working very hard to provide good governance for Deltans and other residents of the state, despite the present economic challenges faced by the citizens”.

Senator Ned Nwoko Disregard this Rumour – Ogbueshi Eluaka

It has come to my notice, of the rumor making the rounds that I Ogbueshi Eluaka Adizue, told Senator Ned Nwoko that he has performed better than former Senator Peter Nwaoboshi. This is not true and did not emanate from me.
On what basis would Senator Peter Nwaoboshi be compared to all the other Anioma senators? How on earth would anyone compare the achievements of the most distinguished Senator Nwaoboshi who performed creditably well while he was at the Senate.

Senator Nwaoboshi can never be compared to the other Anioma senators, past or present, it’s also on record that no Anioma Senator has ever broken the record of chairing any juicy Senate Committee as a first timer, it is only the most distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi a man with robust political experience and wide range of political influence. A man who spread dividends of democracy to the nook and crannies of Delta North within seven years in office, Anioma Nation never knew that a serving senator can attract over 140 roads network across Delta North, distribution of 100 Transformers, installation of thousands of solar street lights, supply of over 100,000 chairs and tables to primary and Secondary schools in Delta North, renovation of schools, building of skills acquisition centers, empowerment of women and youths, training of Anioma Youth through NDDC, employment of youths into various Government parastatals, farmers witnessed huge empowerment with improved Yam and Maize Seedlings from Senator Nwaoboshi which has never happened in the history of Anioma nation etc.

In the 9th senate, Senator Nwaoboshi proposed bill for the creation of Anioma state when he was representing Delta North, it passed through the first and second reading and was referred to the committee on State creation. Eminent Anioma leaders were carried along and they appeared before the committee and defended the request, and it was one of the states shortlisted, the records are there for check.

The event which took place in the High street,(Isieke) Ibusa witnessed a large turnout of widows, married women and other indigent people in Isieke Ibusa.

The Chairman of Junic Group of Companies and Founder of the NGO, Elder Acho Godwin Nonyalim noted that it is the desire of the foundation to see several of these women smile and become better at a time like this when the demise of their breadwinner is mostly felt. “We want you to be happy, and to become better, hence the reason why we have decided to share with you the little that we have on such a day like this. We pray that God will bless you. We also pray that you have joyous Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance,” she said.

In his response, the Director of the foundation, Asika Okwai, noted that the cash gifts and food items were given in the spirit of love. He noted that “It is all about reaching out and touching lives. That is the basis on which we have built this organization. When you make people happy, God has a way of making you happy too. It is something we have learnt, and we are doing it and will keep doing it.

“There is no political undertone. The aim is to reach out to people in need. We are not politicians, but regular citizens like other Nigerians.

“The government is doing its job as best as it can. However, we don’t have to leave everything to the government. It is a trying time for us as a country and as a people. However, it is not an excuse not to share love, especially this festive season. Christ was born to share love.”

One of the beneficiaries who gave her name as Mama Okobi, speaking on behalf of other recipients, said: “We thank the Foundation(Elder Acho Godwin Nonyalim) for and pray that God will continue to bless them. We implore that they also teach us how to ‘fish’ so that we can be self-reliant.”
