Happy Birthday to a Natural-Born Leader

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

Greatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged. ”When one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Ralph Waldo Emerson handed down the above words of wisdom, those he had in mind were certainly the likes of Alum Ifeanyi Asiodu.

Birthdays are special days we celebrate with loved ones and remember forever. It’s a day filled with happiness, laughter, and love. However, we often find ourselves lost for words when wishing our loved ones, especially a good brothers.

Age may be a number but life is certainly a battle. And if the life is that of the urbane and personable, Alum Ifeanyi Asiodu, then life is not only a battle–it is a full blown war. Ever since he adorned himself as a soldier for good, he has had no reprieve from the unrelenting forces of evil. He is caught in the vortex of the eternal battle between good and evil.

Indeed, to those who know him up close and personal, Alum is an enigma: humble, self-effacing, industrious, practical, efficient by nature, diligent, always thinking about things he needs to accomplish or how to get ahead on his next assignment, a complete Scorpio, if you care to assess him by his Zodiac sign. But in plain terms, he is a case of a man who set out to always make a difference wherever he found himself. Not the kind of difference other men pursue to grandstand, but the type that impacts humanity and makes life easier for people. And of this, his track record is unassailable. A look back at his trajectory gives a chronicle of exemplary service to his community and a profile of pure patriotism from an individual.

His legendary generosity and willingness to do good at all times is documented in the hearts of millions. That is why on his birthday, he deserves a toast and song, “Happy birthday to you…” Above all, You deserves a prayer from everyone who is on the side of truth in the eternal battle between truth and falsehood.

You are one the most innovative person in Igbuzo! Today I want to wish you a very happy birthday and thank you for all of your efforts in serving our wonderful Igbuzo community. You truly are an inspiration, not just to us your family but to many. You have many fantastic qualities but among the top of them have to be that you are dependable, trustworthy and you are always there for the Igbuzo youths and a truly inspirational figure! I just wanted you to know on your special day how much you are admired and respected by your people!

You have certainly earned your place in history! “Alum Ibusa”, A great son of Igbuzo.
Today, I have the pleasure of wishing a great brother, father and friend a fantastic birthday this year filled with much happiness!

Happy birthday to the true broda,a great lover of our tradition.

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

Education is something that can lift somebody from nothing to something big in the society. You can build castles and mansions but nobody remembers you when you die, but it’s your legacies and those you touched their lives that will remember you.

The true worth of a man is the way he treats people who are absolutely in need. If you care about people in need, you are actually making a contribution to the development of the nation. We need to give life back to the people. We need to see how we can use the available resources for everybody; create opportunities for all and care, especially for those who are truly in need. The gap between the rich and the poor should be bridged. Those of us blessed with material resources need to share with others. N1.3tn fraud: Okowa spends second night in EFCC custody

The former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, is still being held at the Port Harcourt, Rivers State office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This makes it his second night in the custody of the anti-graft agency.

This is as the Delta State chapter of All Progressives Congress backed the detention of the former governor, describing it as a positive step in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against corruption.

Okowa, who was the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, reported at the EFCC office, following an invitation by investigators over the alleged diversion of N1.3trn. He was subsequently arrested and detained.

Sources said the former governor was also accused of failing to give accounts of another N40bn he allegedly claimed he used to acquire shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas.

One of the sources said, “He was also accused of failing to render accounts of the funds as well as another N40bn he allegedly claimed he used to acquire shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas.

“Investigators are also investigating the diversion of funds by the former governor to acquire estates in Abuja and Asaba in Delta State.”

However, a source familiar with the matter told our correspondent on Tuesday that the former governor was yet to be released because of the quantum of the allegations against him.

The source added that Okowa was earlier in the day confronted with the allegations.

“We are still keeping him, he is still with us. The investigation is ongoing and earlier, he was confronted with some of the allegations against him.

“We are still keeping him because of the quantum of the allegations and amount involved. We want him to respond to the allegations,” the source said.

The Delta APC State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, in a statement on Tuesday, urged the EFCC to continue its investigation into the financial dealings of other former governors and public officials.

The statement partly read: “We in the APC wholeheartedly welcome the arrest of the former governor, who oversaw one of the most concerning cases of financial mismanagement during his eight-year tenure.

“His administration allegedly funnelled significant state resources into personal ventures, including establishing a bank, financing a failed presidential ambition, and supporting the controversial imposition of a successor.

“The arrest serves as a caution to all public officeholders, affirming that the era of impunity is over and that no one, irrespective of position or political affiliation, is above the law.”

It added that “The legacy of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration is a high debt profile resulting from a reckless borrowing spree, which earned him the notorious nickname of ‘Borrow Borrow Governor’.

”During his eight years in office, Delta State has little to show for the vast federal allocations received. The few substandard roads he constructed often hailed as the ‘roadmaster,’ have deteriorated rapidly.”

Prophet Igbodo Distributes Monthly Food Items To Over 600 Widows

Succour recently came to way of over 650 widows in Umunede, Owa-Oyibu and Idumuesah in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, as a renowned philanthropist and General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International, also known as, Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Joseph Igbodo shared monthly food items to them.

The Prophet of God, who is also the proprietor of Job’s Orphanage and St. Stephen’s Trust Widows Home, visited the widows on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the aforementioned communities with cartons of indomie, cartons of biscuits, cartons of chinchin, packets of sweets and other food items.

At Idumuesah, 152 widows were attended to, Umunede had 300, while Owa-Oyibu had 200 widows in attendance at the outreach.

Prophet Igbodo was ably represented at Idumuesah and Owa-Oyibu by his ministers, while he was present at Umunede to spread the love and gospel of Jesus Christ to the widows.

At Idumuesah, Prophet Bayor Innocent stated, ” I want to thank God for our daddy for giving me the privilege to stand in for him today. All our daddy needs from us is prayer. When you pray, God honours it. Despite not being from Ika land, God is using him to bring succour to widows in the land. He is a great man of God with a golden heart. There are many people who will divert these things to their family or probably turn it to a political affair. He is a man who loves and fears God.

“Be patient so that the thoughts of God over you can manifest in your life. Your belief is a pathway to your manifestation. Your testimony depends on your beliefs system. God answered Hannah based on her belief. So, you need to increase your faith in God.

“Come to God in prayer. When you pray to God, He would remember His promises concerning you. Pray with reason and understanding. Your desire can only be given to you when you don’t relent in prayer.

“Seek God with all your heart. Ensure your heart is clean before asking God for anything. If your heart is not clean, prayer becomes a difficult task for you”.

At the Church headquarter in Agbor, Prophet Igbodo spoke on the topic, “Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God”, with text from Matthew 6: 33, and Lamentation 5:1-5, saying that when believers seek the kingdom of God, every other thing will be added unto them.

He added that when believers abandoned God, they would labour without results, insisting that believers should be on the right path always, saying that life was all about excellence because God is excellent.

According to him, “You need to work for the blessing of God to manifest in your life. For God to bless you, you must make yourself available. Fasting and prayer are for God to transform your life. As long as you are working, you would never be hungry. Success is associated with God. So, hold on to God firmly.

“It is only God who can do things for you without mocking or insulting you. God is greater than Satan. Don’t play when it comes to prayer. Your source is God. Doctors can’t treat you free but God can heal you free of charge. Without Christ there is no life”.

In all, Prophet Igbodo led his members and widows in fervent prayers and anointed them for preservation in the new month.
