Dr. Tony Nwaka, has resigned from his appointment after six months of service to Delta

          Dr Tony Nwaka

[dropcap] D[/dropcap]r. Tony Nwaka has resigned  his appointment as Executive Assistant to the governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa after six months. In his facebook post on Tuesday with the title “TO THE NEXT PHASE: TODAY I RESIGNED MY APPOINTMENT WITH DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT,” Dr. Nwaka, who was appointed Executive assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, said he has resigned from the appointment from today.

He said the appointment was received with mixed feelings from the people of Delta state, considering his pedigree, though some viewed it as an opportunity to render service to the people of Delta state.

The post reads in part: “Whatever the case, permit me that I do not dwell on my experiences since the appointment. For I have learnt that in all situations we should give thanks and glory to God. He alone knows the purposes for the vicissitudes in the affairs of men. Indeed as mortal man we learn everyday.

“At any rate, I once again thank His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, for the opportunity to partake in his government. Incidentally, I now have to move on. I must now heed the call of my people, who desire that I re-energize my political career in a manner that will make me directly accountable to them and God.

“I shall, therefore, take the liberty of my disengagement from the state government to seek the best possible way to serve the people, using the available vehicles in our democratic arrangement. In this vein, I will be guided by not only the lessons of the past but also the realities of today; especially the increasing yearning of our people for a more effective representation at the different levels of government.

“I thank all my friends and well wishers for their prayers, counsel, criticisms and support over the years. Rest assured I will keep you all posted on the next step forward, believing that collectively we can truly fashion a more fulfilling direction for our people.”

Leave Hon. Chuks Obusom and O/C Revenue alone, Anioma Publishers warn

His Excellency Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa posed with Hon. Chuks Obusom

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]nioma Publishers have risen to bear their own opinion about the recent incarceration of Hon. Chuks Obusom, the immediate past chairman and O/C Revenue of Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State .
Speaking under the umbrella of Anioma Newspaper Publishers, the spokesperson of the body, Comrade Tony Okafor has reminded the new Chairman and his Legislative arm not to regard the bogus misrepresentation of facts and figures being labeled against the person of Hon. Chuks Obusom and O/C Revenue by some disgruntled political enemies who are hell bent on tarnishing the good work he did.

It will interest the world to know that it was during the tenure of Hon. Chuks Obusom that revenue drive of the council was taking serious, because he partnered with a serious and reputable consulting firm to block all the revenue leakages in the council; that which has never happened in the history of the council. Before Hon. Obusom came on board, every staff of the council was illegal revenue collector as they all have their own receipt which they issue at will but Obusom’s regime with the advice of o/c revenue brought sanity to revenue drive of Oshimili South. It was during Hon. Obusom’s regime that revenue court was built in the council and some many hotels, banks, bars, and residences who thought it was business as usual were disappointed as Hon. Obusom and o/c Revenue obtained court judgment to seal any defaulter. Hon. Obusom and O/C Revenue should therefore be appreciated for taking the bull by the horn, and stepping on toes rather than dragging their names to the mud. Though, we know it is some disgruntled political enemies are calling for his head for doing the right thing at the right time.

Anioma Newspaper Publishers use this medium to appeal to the new Chairman to roll out his own blueprint and move the council forward instead of allowing some of his Councilors whose aims are to make money to distract him by encouraging him to set up a kangaroo panel which will not see the light of the day, at the same time heating up the council thereby causing instability which will affect performance of his regime. He should use his time to work for the council and write his name in gold as we know him as a man of integrity and focus.
We are all aware of the huge debt owned by the council which the recent Chairman knew before contesting; that the council needs liberation. We therefore believe he is capable of turning things around with the support of the entire staff and political family.
Hon. Chuks Obusom is a man of equity, he was among those that fought tooth and nail to make sure the first Delta North Governor, His Excellency Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa emerged. He should be respected as a Former Chairman, Man of God, and a strong PDP leader in Oshimili South Local Government of Delta State.

Oseme’s grassroots dominance: A threat to Hon. Nwaobi’s ambition

Hon. Chuks Oseme

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]on. Chuks Oseme’s grassroots dominance and acceptance has caused political tsunami for some overzealous politicians in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. Since Hon. Oseme assumed office as Chairman in 2015, a lot of people thought it was a joke because they felt he would be their political toy like his predecessors who came, saw, but did not conquer. Consequently, Hon Oseme came, saw, and conquered. He is a man loved by everybody; both his own party members and others in opposition parties. His venture into politics was not by his making, but divinely designed by God. This is the singular reason why he succeeds where others fail. It is written in the Holy Bible that no one should touch an anointed soul and inflict no harm on him (Psalm 105:15). Whoever God has blessed, no man; not even the likes of Hon. Nwaobi can curse him or pull him down; irrespective of the political propaganda aimed at tarnishing his image. The stakeholders in Aniocha North LGA are using this platform to advice Hon. Nwaobi and his cohorts to leave Hon. Oseme alone so that he can concentrate and consolidate on the good works already embarked on. Hon. Nwaobi should be sensible and mature enough to realize that the era of cheap popularity has long gone. Hon. Nwaobi should know that it would take him some time to build his image and popularity like Hon. Oseme.

If reference is made to the previous primary election held in his constituency, he emerged third place. Also, in the recently concluded local government election, Hon Nwaobi could not deliver even 50% of the total registered votes; as he got 700 votes out of 8000 registered voters in his constituency. What a shame! If the people loved him like he claimed, why did he not secure at least 50% of the voting strength in his ward? However, the reverse was the case in Hon. Oseme’s ward as he secured almost 93% of the voting strength. This is one of the reasons why Chief Nkem Okwuofu (Political God-Mother of Government) who is from the same LGA with Hon. Oseme believes in him. With his pedigree, it has been envisaged that he is the next political leader that will take over from the likes of Chief Nkem Okwuofu.

In any case, Hon. Nwaobi should build his popularity and wait for his turn; and not by fomenting trouble in the local government through some of the mischievous Councilors who do not know their onion. Hon. Nwaobi should focus on his legislative business. He should fight for the rights of Aniocha North in Delta State House of Assembly, and not destroying Oseme’s image. He should desist from the unwholesome act of creating tension in the local government area when there is no need for it. Who is who in Aniocha North have passed vote of confidence on Hon. Oseme as they are solidly behind him to take the council to the next level. He has broken the records by emerging as Aniocha North LGA Chairman for a second term, consecutively. It has not happened before; but with God on his side, he made that record.
It is natural that money do not give popularity; but rather popularity comes from God, good work and love from the people.

Chairman of the group, Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Peoples Republic of China, Mr Godwin Ude-Umanta, stated this during a press conference at Monabliss Hotels and Suites, Abakaliki.

“The psychological effect of this positive development is far reaching, so much so that it has instilled an irrepressible sense of pride in most of us in the Diaspora who hitherto were taunted by our friends from other states, who saw nothing good about Ebonyi but guinea warm, poverty and underdevelopment. “

The group later visited some orphanage homes in Abakaliki where they made donations of various items including food, industrial products among others.

[dropcap] H[/dropcap]on. Esewezie has finally succumbed to pressure from the people of Oshimili North on Friday, February  23rd, 2018 to contest for the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly . Infact, it was not just a political gathering but a carnival so to say. What a Youth Leader and mobiliser! Hon. Innocent  Esewezie simply has no rival within and outside as his humanitarian lifestyle spells doom for all his rivals’ desperation. Perhaps, a man’s hunger and thirst for making a difference or adding value to the lives of people is not largely measured on the basis of his privileges and access to power, control, possession or linkage to governmental finance base, but his actions with the little he has.

Beside the pressure from his people to join the 2019 Oshimili North Constituency House of Assembly contest and to rescue the good people of Oshimili North from bad representation, the name Hon. Innocent  Esewezie rings bell in the light of well doing, hence, to very many, “Hon.Innocent  Esewezie” is synonymous with kindness, humility and good doing. To others, he is a symbol of love, affection and kindness. From the growing mass support he enjoys from the day of his call by his people, his acceptance and up till now, is a conviction that, no man forces himself to be loved or wins his way into the hearts of men.

The battle line is now drawn by Hon. Esewezie’s official declaration at Okpanam  before the Oshimili North Political leaders . The Former Chairman of Oshimili North and presently the SSA to Governor Okowa on Youth Development has been described as a man of service and generosity, whose motivating interest is to improve the lives and welfare of his people always.

Hon. Esewezie , man of the power

His party stalwarts gave the description on Friday, 23rd February, in their message, congratulating Hon. Esewezie for succumbing to the peoples’ pressure to rescue Oshimili North from bad representation.

He congratulated him and prayed that God will take him to a greater height where he will continue to have a positive effect on the society.

Anioma Publishers further reiterated their resolve in joining well-meaning people of Oshimili North to support the clarion call for Hon Esewezie to intensify his moves towards representing them in 2019, as this would ensure the restoration of the voice of the people, which according to the group, has diminished and become muffled in the green chambers.“It is our believe that he will give the people of Oshimili North  a resounding voice again in the Delta State House of Assembly, where for now our voice has been lost, due to ineffective representation.

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have been pouring in from far and wide for Hon. Esewezie on the auspicious occasion of declaring his ambition to give Oshimili  North voice as a true son of the soil.

Members of Team Esewezie

Speaking with reporters, Hon. The popular cliche, ‘first impression sticks’ is not applicable to Chief Daniel Obiorah. If you profile and categorize him based on the spur of the moment kind of judgment, then you have done so using the wrong barometer and faulty premise.Everybody remember him as the handsome, ever-smiling man who was well-loved for his life of philanthropism. Always had this calm, friendly mien. He is a personification of undiluted humanness, the perfect example of leadership symbolism, the paragon of idealism, the soul of humanity, the heart of warrior, the perfect gentleman. He is an exceptional family man who cares for his family members as well as those who are lucky to come his way. He has encouraged mostly youths to embrace education and has continued to empower all those fortunate to come his way. He is that affluent young man who uses his God given wealth to better the lives of his people and sacrifices his own pleasure and comfort for the sake of his community.
Chief Daniel Obiorah has a will cast in iron, his determination is etched in stone and his clarity of purpose cannot be disputed. He is firm, and resolute. A courageous and dogged fighter, unassuming, highly principled and very modest in all aspects of life; whose lifestyle and philosophy is worthy of emulation. A great philanthropist who has empowered numerous youths in Anam Kingdom.
The history of the city of Anam will not be complete without chapters devoted to him, so also will the account of the movement to deepen poverty eradication be incomplete without constant references to his name. Chief Daniel Obiorah has become a recurrent decimal on the lives of the grassroots where he has assumed the status of the indomitable knight.
This young and amiable gentleman, a chief , a comrade, a nation builder, a long life Nigerian; who has touched many lives with everything he has is a role model to all our rich men out there to learn how to use their resources to support & touch the lives of less privileged in the society.
There is no doubt that Chief. Comr. Daniel Chukwdi Obiorah has carved a niche for himself in all areas of human endeavours. His commitment, creativity and outstanding support towards the socio-economic development of his community has taken Anam Kingdom to stardom and has also singled out this great personality as an icon of repute.

Words fall short when one tries to describe this man of inestimable character. He is one in a million. A breath of fresh air to those who encounter him. Delta Assembly 2019 : Innocent Esewezie’s declaration will spell doom for all his rivals

Hon. Innocent Esewezie
SSA to Governor Okowa on Youths Development

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]f humans are truly fair to what comes from their mouths about Hon.Innocent Esewezie’s humanitarian gesture, the hope of those trying to fake reality to get support in fulfilling their political aspirations, are definitely sealed up ahead of the 2019 elections.
On the other hand, if winning elections are based on passion to curb hunger, thirst and practical demonstration of love for development, love for others and doing good with one’s hard earn resources, Hon.Innocent Esewezie simply has no rival within and outside as his humanitarian lifestyle spells doom for all his rivals’ desperation.
Perhaps, a man’s hunger and thirst for making a difference or adding value to the lives of people, is not largely measured on the basis of his privileges and access to power, control, possession or linkage to governmental finance base, but his actions with the little he has.

The later is typical of Hon.Innocent Esewezie being a fanatic of the dictum, “it pays to be good”.Before stepping into the Oshimili North constituency 2019 House of Assembly contestation upon plea by the people, a careful analysis of his lifestyle, evidently shows that, doing good and being good are natural qualities that have kept him on constant check in his inter relationship which internally propels him to ensuring that smiles are put in the faces and hearts of those around as well as those who come in contact with him. This no doubt, earned him respect and love of the people as a man after their heart.

Beside his push by the people to join the 2019 Oshimili North constituency House of Assembly contest and rescue the good people of Oshimili North from bad representation, the name Hon.Innocent Esewezie rings bell in the light of well doing, hence, to very many, “Hon.Innocent Esewezie” is synonymous with kindness, humility and good doing. To others, he is a symbol of love, affection and kindness. From the growing mass support he enjoys from the day of his call by his people, his acceptance and up till now, its a conviction that, no man forces himself to be loved or wins his way into the hearts of men.

Following his unconditional free -handedness, cheerful giving, care and concern for development dating to his days of little beginning until now, widows, the aged and Christians across the constituency have in addition, nourished his House of Assembly quest with praise and prayers to succeed and to expand his scope of love through effective and purposeful representation.
Hon.Innocent Esewezie is a blessing and gift to Oshimili North and the best choice of representative for the constituency at a time like this.”Ozigbo Ozigbo to Asaba” Carry go Broda …

DTHA Committee on Works lauds Governor Okowa for Re-Awarding the Airport Project to a Competent firm

Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie,Chairman The House Committee on Works addressing newsmen

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]on. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie,Chairman, The House Committee on Works of the Delta State House of Assembly has expressed the Committee’s gratitude to the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for re-awarding the Asaba International Airport project to a competent company, Setraco Nigeria Limited.
Chairman Ivwurie said it is the constitutional responsibility of DTHA Committee on Works to oversight the Asaba International Airport project and other infrastructural developmental projects across the state. This inspection is to ascertain the level of work done so far on the Airport by the new contractor and we have no modicum of doubt that the Airport will be completed, delivered and opened for 24 hours uninterrupted flight operations before the end of April 2018 which the contractor has assured the Committee.

Hon. Ivwurie said before now there was a recalcitrant and irresponsible contractor handling this project and the contractor frustrated Deltans and Nigerians using the Airport until the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Works intervened legally and forcefully.

The Works Committee basically from day one chased and harassed the contractor, ULO Consultant Limited by exerting maximum coercion and pressure on the contractor forcing them to withdraw from the said Airport contract work.

“Deltans heave a sigh of relief the moment the Works Committee chased the endless and non-repentant contractors from the Airport and today we are happy that the rehabilitation of the Runway and Taxiway of the Airport has been re-awarded to Setraco Nigeria Limited by the Delta State Government. The Committee is pleased and satisfied with the job done so far by Setraco Nigeria Limited,” Chairman Ivwurie stated.

According to Hon. Ivwurie “the Committee is using this medium to express it’s heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for listening to the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Works by re-awarding the Asaba International Airport to a world class and competent company, Setraco Nigeria Limited”.

Chairman Ivwurie further stated that as you can see for yourselves, this visit is different from our previous ones, work on the Airport is in rapid progress and it is been done very professionally. Every process for engaging in engineering and Airport construction is being observed and respected by Setraco Nigeria Limited. We have seen their work plan, work schedule and I can categorically state that the Committee is very pleased and satisfied with the work done so far.

The former contractor put Deltans and the State Government through a harrowing experience. “That contractor put all of us in a big fix, big jam and a big mess and we had to chase them away for the good of the State and today, seeing what Setraco is doing, we are indeed proud of our decisive and courageous action against the stubborn former contractor”.

While thanking the Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye and its team, the Delta State Government Consultant in charge of the Asaba International Airport, Olayiwola Rasheed and the Special Project Director, Hon. Austin Ayomidejor for their sacrifices, Hon. Ivwurie encouraged them to continue to put in their best efforts until the airport is completed, delivered and put into 24 hours uninterrupted flight operations in April 2018.Chairman of Works Committee, Evance Ivwurie Speaking to Journalists at an Inspection tour of Asaba International Airport.

He also thanked Setraco Nigeria Limited Area Manager Jihad Yaghi; Joseph Halby, Project Manager and other staff of the company their dedication to their duty.Present at the inspection tour include, Hon. Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, Chairman; Olorogun Barr. Denis Omovie; Hon. Barr. Daniel Mayuku; Hon. Kennedy Daubry; Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri and Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi.
