Danger looms,As Umunkwo Street in Asaba submerged …Residents cry for help

Submerged Umunkwo street

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hile the Delta state government and her functionaries are busy in a ‘jamboree’ like thanksgiving over a state created 29 years ago with little to show, her citizens are battling with the impact of flooding.
While some believed that the downpour on an auspicious occasion such as this, is a blessing but to the residents of the state capital mostly Umunkwo Street in Umuezei, Asaba, it is a curse for rain to fall. Umunkwo Street is submerged in flood following torrential rains.

The decision of Governor  Okowa Ifeanyi (SMART AGENDA) to create the Delta Capital Territory Development Agency, DCTDA, 29 years after its creation, was an indication that the state capital has not attained the status it ought to have attained in terms of infrastructure and living conditions of the citizens in the capital city. That was why the state government
created an agency to give it that bite and focus, but the reverse was the case of this agency.

The ever-busy Umunkwo Street in Umuezei off St. Brigid’s road link to Police “A” Division and Asagba Secondary school is now a death trap,as motorists who ply the road declared protest to draw state government’s attention to its poor state as floods have rendered the street impassable for months now. Motorists and passengers press home their anger against state government’s alleged nonchalant attitude towards its repair.

Following the pressure of heavy car movement, impacts of climate change, poor maintenance of Road, fear of road failure,
automobile accidents have become “playmates of motorists”, and motorists plying the ever busy Umunkwo Street in Umuezei
link to Police “A” Division and Asagba Secondary school.
Motorists plying Umunkwo Street take risk everyday driving on top of the failed portions and flooded road with fear, as
a result of the failed portion. we will continue to protest until government repairs the road”. we are worried by the
alleged lukewarm attitude reportedly exhibited by the agency in charge and state government toward addressing the
impending doom, dangling, tongues have started wagging, as Deltans, plying the road tongue lash Delta Capital Territory
Development Agency, DCTDA and the State Government Ministry of work (as we can nolonger talk of our dead Direct Labour Agency- DLA) for alleged insensitivity toward employing proactive measures swiftly to address the deadly situation.

Flooded Street of Umunkwo

Investigation revealed that deep potholes litter the Umunkwo Street, especially the entrance from St. Brigid’s road where they have been hue and cry of incessant accident cases recorded because the whole street is now submerged and motorist can no longer ply the road again.

In spite of the hue and cry which greeted the series of bloody accidents recorded on the submerged street everyday, we call on the state government to declare state of Emergency on Umunkwo street to safe lives and properties.

Grassroots Publishers online, however, pleads with the Delta State Government to declare state of Emergence on this deadly Umunkwo road, by employing temporary measures, such as filling this embarrassing spot with stones and by constructing urgent drainage because if the situation is not swiftly given attention, calamity will soon befall the residents of this street which will soon claim many lives and properties.

As the condition of the road becomes more deplorable following the rapid development of many dangerous spots, especially, the fast developing flooding on the road,The Grassroots Publishers are calling on state government to employ proactive measures to avert loss of lives and properties, A Stitch in Time Saves Nine.

One of the best ways to prevent a child from bedwetting is to help them empty their bladder. Telling them to urinate before going to bed is one of the most effective ways to stop them from bedwetting because when their bladder is empty, it’ll take a while for it to be filled again. And this will lead us to the second effective way, which is to get an alarm clock for them.

2. I Got an alarm clock for my child

It is important to get an alarm clock for your child especially the older ones as this will help to stop them from bedwetting. You can set this alarm clock at 4 hours interval, so that they’ll wake up every 4 hours to urinate and when this becomes constant like they’re doing it every day, it will be part of them and they will learn to wake up by themselves to urinate.

3. Check for constipation

Constipation most times is the major reason of Urinating on the bed at night because when colon close to the bladder is filled with hard or large poop, it will mount pressure on the bladder and this will make your child to bed wet. Try as much to make sure that your child poops normally by giving your child enough fluids and vegetables for easier bowel movements.

Why Manchester United players are afraid of the Number 7 Jersey

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]o shirt number, have an impact in players performance? Why do United find it difficult to replace the Number 7 Jersey.

Now let’s consider the Number 7 Jersey. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Here in my area where I live, many believe that every Number in United squad comes with great responsibilities and Number seven (7) jersey is most feared.

Example: Number 10 Jersey. Many believed that ever since Rashford took that Number he dropped in his performance. Neglecting the fact that he play’s that same position with Number 19 Jersey. Do you think he lost form.?

Why Manchester United players are not taking the Number 7 Jersey.

A lot of players play that position better without the Number 7 but fail to deliver when handed the number 7 Jersey. This is simply because previous players who wore the Number did great exploits in the club, taking that number without reaching the predecessors achievement is not an achievement.

Eric Cantona – David Beckham – Owens – Ronaldo. These are great Man United Number 7 players. And since they left, non was upto their achievements.

Nani – Di Maria – Alexis Sanchez. They couldn’t make a good seven or perform better than their predecessors. They can’t kill themselves.View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Summary : Wearing that shirt Number can be a burden or a privilege.

NED NWOKO DENIES MARRIAGE TO CHIKA IKE

Chika Ike and Prince Ned Nwoko

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]rince Ned Nwoko, Billionaire lawyer and philanthropist,  on Monday, described as false and wicked reports alleging that Nollywood goddess, Chika Ike, is pregnant for him.

He also denied reports that both of them were getting set to get married.

The denial was contained in a statement signed by the head, Ned Nwoko Media Directorate, Mr Norbert Chiazor. The former House of Representatives member while debunking the reports as fake, noted that such only exist in the mind of the author of the report.

The Nigerian social media space had been suffused with various rumours of engagement between Ned Nwoko and Chika Ika.

This is coming on the heels of his celebrated marriage to Nollywood sensation, Regina Daniels, in April 2019, both of whom welcomed a baby Boy on 29 June 2020.

Chiazor, quoting the popular lawyer, said he had not spoken to Chika Ike for over two years.

According to him, “I have not spoken to Chika Ike in two years. I have not seen her. This is wicked. People should leave me and my family alone.”

A  particular self appointed blogger who identified herself as “Esthersky “ had appeared on YouTube  channel tagged “ Pizzy Vibes” claiming that Regina’s mother Rita Daniels made a video where she expressed anger with Chika.

Shortly before the said “ EstherSky” came on the screen, an anonymous female voice was heard, in Pidgin English, pretending to quote from an alleged video made by Rita Daniels  complaining thus “ Chika Ike leave my pickin husband for me o. Leave my pickin husband , if not I go enter spiritual for you”

Investigations have however revealed that the YouTube story was concocted and totally fictitious,as Regina’s mother never at anytime attacked or raised concerns whatsoever about Chika Ike over Ned Nwoko and marriage. It turned out that the original video by Rita Daniels was heavily manipulated in doctored scam.

The original was actually an Instagram video of Rita Daniels singing a folk song before the camera. An ethnic Ibo eulogy with the lines “ Chukwu na dim ekwenem Yali yo. Obunam yali onye ka mkpor oku oza”. Translated to simple English, this means “God my father, do not let me forget you. If I forget, who will answer my call.”

The YouTube channel had also claimed that Chika is pregnant for Ned Nwoko and they were expecting their first child together. A speculation found to be baseless.

It will be recalled that Rita Daniels had in a swift reaction expressed disappointment with the video, describing it as criminal manipulation of the original where he only sang an innocuous song in praise of God.

“ May God equip us with wisdom knowledge, understanding and common sense of reasoning wit di way we judge pipo. Let God be my judge and judge those wey dey judge me wrongly…. Happy Sunday fam. God bless you all,” She wrote on her  Instagram page.

Regina’s mother had granted an interview with BBC pidgin network, repudiating such reports.

Chika Ike also reportedly got questioned by a fan and took to her Instagram page to expose the stories as nonsensical, urging the public to disregard the mischievous rumours.

Meanwhile, Ned Nwoko is said to have vowed to use all legitimate means to bring the perpetrators of the fake video to justice as a deterrence.
