[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he member representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs,Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi (SPON)on Friday called on Nigerians to join hands with the present administration to make the country great again, by supporting its policies and programmes aimed at restoring full security across the country and revamping the economy.

In his New Year message released in Asaba,Senator Nwaoboshi congratulated Nigerians, at home and abroad, who survived the various difficulties experienced in the just ended year and are witnessing the beginning of a new year. He also prayed to God to give fortitude and strength to those who lost their loved ones due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the brutal acts of terrorists, kidnappers and other criminals as well as to families of security agents who died in active service.

As Nigerians, we have a lot to be thankful for in 2021, and much more to look forward to in 2022. I personally thank all Deltans and Nigerians for the honor and privilege to serve you as a Senator. You have shown me love and affection. You challenged my ideas, actions and in actions, thereby, giving me new ideas and directions. For all of this, I am humbled and sincerely thankful.

The year 2021 was full of memorable events in our lives as an individual and collectively as a nation. I know as much as you do that our nation is passing through tough challenging times socially, politically and economically. The insecurity and economic instability of our dear nation in the last one year have threatened our national unity and heightened our worries and concerns. There has been serious awakening among Nigerians in the state of the polity than ever before. With no doubt, this has taken us many steps ahead to our fortune as a nation. Having come this far, I strongly believe the darkest hour of the night is behind us and the dawn is just about to break off.

As a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic, I have been privileged to interact with youths, women, men, artisans, professionals and non- professionals alike whom we shared our hopes and desires for our country, Nigeria and to this end, it has really been delightful, I must confess. With more to come in this new year, there is need to put all machinery in motion to reduce unemployment rate by aiding our teeming youth into public , private enterprises and to be self sustained.
We can only overcome our challenges if we remain resolute in fighting for what is right and doing the right things. We should ensure the coming general elections is peaceful, free, fair and credible. All of us should abhor any illegal or violent activity.

“We need to also remember our fellow countrymen and women in troubled areas of the country and pray to God to restore peace in all the nooks and cranny of the country, defeat insurgency and successfully restore the displaced people to their homestead.

“Let us engage people in government in constructive criticisms as against hate speech and campaign of calumny.

“In the new year, we must imbibe good moral conduct in our daily pursuits for the sake of peace and unity”.

Nwaoboshi added that the New Year presents another opportunity to write a new success story for the country by Working to Make Nigeria Great Again.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]n Asaba based Real Estate mogul,Politician,and Philanthropist,Hon.Leo Nkeaka, who is fond of putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged and who has always advocated for people to cultivate the habit of giving unconditionally, has celebrated Christmas and New Year with residents of Ward 8 in Ibusa of Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

In the spirit of Christmas and New Year Celebrations, Hon.Leo Nkeaka distributed over two million naira, including 500 bags of rice,1000 live chicken, 500 wrappers and other items to different groups in Ibusa, including the less privileged, elders of Ward 8,women, widows, disabled, hospital patients, traders, among others.

The items were distributed when he hosted youths,leaders,widows and family members to a Christmas party in his family Country home at Umueze-Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area had over 2000 beneficiaries from the entire Ward 8 in Ibusa rejoicing over the magnanimity of the philanthropist, whom they said gave them hope of celebrating the birth of Christ like other families every year.
Earlier before the onset of the Yuletide, Hon.Leo Nkeaka had distributed N10,000 each to more than 50 people of Umueze extraction, while others received either N15,000, N20,000 or N50,000, depending on the size of their families, even as more than 100 people were randomly gifted N2,000 each, either at home, market or on the street.

Also, being of the Leo Nkeaka matrilineal family,Nkeaka distributed bags of rice and cash gifts to executive members of Nkeaka, who visited him on Christmas day (as they usually do every yuletide).

On social media, many Deltans are still showering praises on Leo Nkeaka as more than 100 Facebook users benefited airtime of different denominations and networks from the humanitarian, including MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9Mobile.

Even members of his staff were not left out in the Christmas largesse as Nkeaka randomly distributed bags of rice to them, with a sick staff receiving N25, 000 to help in offsetting her hospital bills.

Meanwhile, in support of her husband’s humanitarian gesture, his wife equally distributed over 100 wrappers to widows of Umueze extraction, irrespective of their communities.

In an exclusive chat with Newsmen, the philanthropist, Hon. Leo Nkeaka, said that he was moved to remember the widows, his Political Ward 8 and less privileged this yuletide because it is a season of giving and showing love as he loves giving back to society and not for political reasons.

He said: “The distribution of these bags of rice,500 Rappers, 1000 chicken, cartoons of tin tomatoes and cash is borne out of the need to express love to our people, particularly widows and the disabled persons in seasons like this. It is our modest contribution to our immediate environment and a way of giving back to society. After all, we rise by lifting others. Recently too, we’ve been into a few of similar gestures for other strata of the society. We intend to do more in due course.

“Nevertheless, my advice to my people of Ward 8 this Xmas is that as we go about our merriment, let us not forget the essence of the season; to show love to one another and put smiles on as many faces as possible. We do not need to own the world to be able to lend a helping hand. Let the popular proverb that a bone to the dog is not charity, that charity is a bone shared with the dog when you’re as hungry as it is, always be our watchword.”

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he member representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs,Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi (SPON)  has felicitated with Christians across the country on the occasion of this year’s Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations while calling on them to use the period to pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation.

In a statement signed on his behalf by his SPON  Media and Publicity,  Nwaoboshi noted that the period of Christmas is for celebrating a man whose life symbolise peace across the world and who also preached that the entire human race should be united and work for the progress of the universe.

“Jesus Christ who we all know to be the reason for this season preached peace and therefore it is the responsibility of all Nigerians to use this period to rededicate ourselves to working to restore peace in our country by being kind to each other and being our brother’s keeper.

“We should use this period to pray to God to restore peace in the troubled areas of our country and our personal lives. We should pray to God to stop all acts that lead to blood shed. We should avoid actions and statements which set one part of the country against the other and one person against his neighbour or brother.

“Every Nigerian should get set to emulate the good deeds, character and aspiration of Jesus Christ because that is what can help our country to develop and ensure that we all enjoy as citizens. We should be moderate in our celebrations at this period and avoid actions that violate the law of the land or further create crisis.

“I wish all Nigerians a Merry Christmas, a pleasurable Boxing Day and I pray to God to protect all of us as we get ready to end 2021 peacefully and begin a new year with so much hope and God’s blessing”, Nwaoboshi stated.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he traditional ruler of Igbodo, His Royal majesty Obi Ikechukwu Nkeobikwu Osadunme (1) the obi of Igbodo Kingdom in Ika North East, on thursday described Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as an Anioma Political Warrior, A Go-Getter and A result Oriented Senator of Delta North. The monarch spoke on Thursday when Nwaoboshi paid him a courtesy call in Igbodo, during his trip to honour the memorial service of the father of Evangelist Moses Kamanya.
The obi of Igbodo, said, “As the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, my Community have benefited alot from you in terms of roads and other infrastructural development.
Since your assumption of office as a lawmaker, you have not disappointed the entire Anioma,You have redefined lawmaking,churning out people oriented laws and helping to give credence to the act of lawmaking in Nigeria.

According to His Royal Majesty,Nwaoboshi has proved beyond reasonable doubt that indeed he is an asset to the people of Anioma nation,Delta North and Nigeria in general.
A humble man whose humility and steadfastness has taken him to the height he has attained today. His leadership style is worthy of emulation as it has indeed become a reference by all and sundry.

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is not only a charismatic leader, he is a compassionate person. The people of Anioma nation are not only happy and grateful to have him as their senator, but thankful that such a quintessential person is representing them at the red chambers.

On his part, Senator Nwaoboshi thank His Majesty for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage,expressing delight at the recognition of his performance at the red chambers by the traditional ruler and promised to attract more projects to Igbodo Community and the entire Delta North.He described His Majesty as a bridge builder who has brought people together.

“I am very happy that this community has drawn from your wealth of experience, open-mindedness and broad-mindedness. We are able to see a community that is moving forward, especially this community being one of the most peaceful places and food basket of Delta state today,” Nwaoboshi added.

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n the mood of Christmas celebration, Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the member representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, has distributed thousands of bags of rice and other items to the nine Delta North Senatorial District he represents.

The eloquent Politician, who delights in putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged, the poor and the downtrodden across several towns and communities in the spirit of the season has not only become a ‘Messiah of sort’ to the poorest of the poor but had kept faith with his mission to reduce poverty and hunger in the Delta North Senatorial District.
The Senator, who said Christmas would be empty without acts of love as shown by Christ, also observed that love was also engrained in African cultures.

He stressed that “the spirit of sharing is an African tradition that generates happiness and ensures social stability in the absence of a formal social security mechanism that caters for the less privileged in our society”.

Nwaoboshi, admired by many of his allies have made it a tradition to celebrate and distribute bags of rice and other items to the nine local government of Delta North Senatorial District he represents as a show of love to the poor and needy who have little to celebrate the season with.

“This may not be enough, but with this little we believe it will go a long way in supporting some families to celebrate Christmas well,’’ he said.

The lawmaker said that the items were not just for his party members, but for all members of the constituency, saying “I represent all.’’
Nwaoboshi also call on all Nigerians to also be grateful to God for keeping them thus far, saying that life and health were gifts from God.

For his constituents, Nwaoboshi rededicated himself to their service, promising to ensure that the right environment was created for their empowerment.

Nwaoboshi called on the people to use this period to pray for him and other leaders in the country to lead Nigeria to peace and prosperity.
