Okocha tasks APC youth leaders to Start mobilizing for 2023

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Oshimili North APC Youth leader Rtn. Peter Okocha aka Bobo Nkiti, has challenged national, zonal, state and local government youth leaders and all youth stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress(APC) to begin the process of mobilising their peers across the state to select leaders that will meet the aspirations of young people.

Delivering his remarks at the Kefas park in Ibusa, venue of Delta North APC Senatorial Youth  Summit , Rtn. Okocha reiterated the need for more young people to have seats at the table in the next government.  This is because, by God’s grace, APC will win Delta and the entire Delta North senatorial district in 2023. However, it is clear that we cannot win without the strength, network, and influence of the young people in this room.

“I have had the opportunity to meet with our leaders — and we are all on the same page that an APC Federal Government must be a government that works functionally. Therefore, the only way we can be functional is to ensure that young people and women are fully integrated at the onset in all our strategies.

“We have shown that we are not just a party that talks. We work. I strongly believe that any government that comes in has to be a government that has the energy to do the work, and it is only young people that have the energy that we need,” the Oshimili North APC Youth leader said”.

Also speaking in the occasion, the APC Senatorial Youths leader,Comrade Chukwutem Nworgor reminded the youths  that as it stands, there are currently over 12 million Nigerian youths who are not yet registered to vote.

“We need you all to go out there and give these young people a reason to register to vote. You need to start mobilising at the ward, state, and zonal levels.

“And of course, it goes without saying, at this time, young people should not only come out to vote, they should also come out and vie for elective positions. With the new Electoral Act, it is clear that we will have freer and fairer elections — and only young people can and will win,”Nworgor  said”.

Nworgor assured that under his leadership as the Delta North Senatorial youth leader of APC, his doors are open to all, for advice, contributions, saying that he will not take the experience and wisdom of the elders for granted.

He noted that great power comes with great responsibilities, saying that he fully understand the responsibilities that members of the party bestowed on them as youths leaders and promised not to take the position lightly because APC must win Delta State and Nigeria come 2023.

“We seek for your support and help, for we can not succeed alone. We must work together to achieve our desired goals,” he prayed.

He added, “From now on, we take on this responsibility knowing that we stand on the shoulders of committed young men and respected elders of our party.”

According to him, ‘the recently concluded national convention was a testimony to the fact that APC’s maturity is second to none. ‘The organized, peaceful and matured nature of the convention proceedings remains the best Nigeria has ever witnessed  in any other political party in recent times.

‘The peaceful consensus methods employed free, fair and credible elections held for positions that did not go through the consensus are indeed worthy of emulation.

‘This gigantic move came to many youths especially those that are not members of the APC is generally an appealing one and has influenced many to defect to the APC.

2023: APC vows to take over Delta from PDP

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he All Progressives Congress (APC), a major opposition political party in Delta State has declared war against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections in the country.

The APC Delta North Senatorial Zone Chairman,Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka declared the war on Sunday while addressing the large crowd that gathered at the Unity Hall, along Issele Uku/Okiti Road, Issele Uku, in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State,he stated that APC has come to stay and make way for the people of Delta State.

the chairman also added that APC will takeover Delta in 2023, going by recent developments.“Let me start by saying that am full of excitement with what is happening everyday. This inauguration of our state executives is a major milestone in our battle to sack the PDP occupation of the government house, Asaba”.

“However, as we celebrate, let me remind us that we have a lot of work to do.If the APC must win the battle ahead, there must be no victor and no vanquish within the party’s fold in the state,” he said.

Eluaka reminded the APC Delta North executives that all members of the party have a common goal, urging them to close ranks and work in unity. As we move forward, let us forgive and forget our differences, because if we must win, then we must be united in battle and each party member must fight as if he or she is contesting for the coming election, it is not a battle for Senator Peter Nwaoboshi or DSP Ovie Omo-Agege alone.

“Finally, as we go back home, let us preach the gospel to our people in our various communities on why the APC must occupy the seat of government in Delta state.

“Our people have suffered enough, the truth must be told, so let the people know that we are coming to wipe away their sufferings,Eluaka said.

Most Distinguished Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi (APC-Delta) who represents Delta North at the National Assembly, lauded the Senatorial meeting. He said that with the successful inauguration of the executives, the APC family had shamed its detractors.

“Those who have been praying for trouble in APC will be so disappointed with what is happening here today. We are ready for them. There is nothing they think they know that we don’t know. the battle has started and we will match them strength to strength,” he said.

Nwaoboshi said that APC will thoroughly sweep through the entire Delta State, come 2023 and the signs of jittery and defeat are already visible in the faces of the opponents. We as a party are committed to free and fair elections. Our party primaries will be fairly conducted as this is what the party stands for. Anybody that thinks he or she is powerful enough to run an election should win the Primaries first. Nobody will impose any Candidate on the Party and no leader will influence victory for any Candidate. There is going to be a level playing field for everyone, because everyone, is of equal importance to the party.”

“Let me assure you that there is nothing they plan that we do not know. There is no rigging spot of PDP that we don’t know. They are sending rams and registering goats across the state now. On Election Day, I will see how these “sokoto votes” will count,he asserted. “Our goal now is to work in unity of purpose and put our candidate on the seat as governor of Delta, come 2023. It is a task we much achieve,” Nwaoboshi said.

Senator Nwaoboshi said that this battle is for the next generation of politicians to benefit. I have played my part as a politician; I cannot be a Commissioner again, I cannot be an Adviser again, I cannot hold any political appointment or position again in Delta. However,I can be proud to be known as a friend of the Governor.

“That is why I am supporting Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, because he is the next Governor of Delta State. This is a man who has played a high wired politics as Secretary to Delta State Government and now the number five (5) citizen in the country. What else are we looking for in a Governor? He has it all and he knows it all.

“In a nut shell, my fellow party men, don’t let them deceive you, there is no secret of PDP we don’t know. There is no rigging plan in Delta State that I don’t know about or that Omo-Agege does not know. We are equal to them and this is just the end of the road for them. And that is why I congratulate my big brother and friend, the APC Delta North Senatorial Chairman,Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka,a juggernaut of no mean repute, who has a task to guide all Delta North APC candidates to victory in 2023,” Nwaoboshi said.
The senatorial meeting was well attended by who-is-who in the APC hierarchy within the Delta North Senatorial District.
