[dropcap]D[/dropcap]eputy Senate President, representing Delta Central in the Senate,Ovie Omo-Agege has been elected unopposed to fly the APC Delta State governorship flag at the 2023 general elections. He scored a total of 1,190 votes. A total of 1,350 voters were expected, while a total of 1,235 voters were accredited.
In all 1,191 votes were cast, with one invalid vote, leaving Omo-Agege with a total of 1,190 valid votes. Omo-Agege expressed gratitude to the APC national office, and declared his acceptance of his nomination as APC governorship flag bearer in Delta.
He will lock horns with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at the 2023 governorship elections.
Omo-Agege who was the sole aspirant for the governorship position was unopposed at the primary election held at the Federal College of Education, Asaba, which was observed by the Independent National Electoral Comission (INEC) Delta State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Rev. Monday Udo Tom, security agencies and journalists.
Before voting commenced shortly after accreditation of delegates, Rev. Tom told delegates that it was necessary by law for INEC officials to monitor primary exercise, pointing out that the rules states that there must be physical voting even if its only one person that is the aspirant.
Delegates from the three senatorial districts of Delta North, Delta Central and Delta State were accredited and they voted. Total number of delegates was 1,235, while the officials of APC from Abuja that conducted the primary election was led by Mrs. Oyibo Nwaneri.
Speaking shortly after collecting his certificate of return, the deputy senate president commended the conducted of APC faithful and thanked all party officials and members for the confident reposed in him.
Omo-Agege promised to rescue Delta State, lamenting that the state has experienced gross failure in the past seven years in the hands of the PDP administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
“In the last seven and half years, Delta State has been misruled. We have had close to N900 billion but what is on the ground is not commensurate,” he said.
“Our infrastructure are decaying, our youths are unemployed, our teachers are unpaid, and pensioners who have suffered to offer their services to the state are not paid their dues.
“The government has rather focused on things that do not add value to the lives of the people. The bad governance in the state is impacting on all irrespective of party affiliation.
“As we go into the campaigns, we have one thing in mind to rescue the state. We are going to focus on providing good governance, enduring peace and security which is what Deltans crave.
“As we seek to achieve this, it is not going to be a tea party, all hands must be deck. Okowa has failed and has therefore chosen someone to continue that failure of perpetuity in office but they will not succeed,” Omo-Agege said.
He also thank Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi(SPON)who by the grace of God on Saturday will be our Senatorial flag bearer and a returning Senator.He disclosed that he has reconciled with the Minister for State for labour, Chief Festus Keyamo and others.
The party primaries was attended by some notable chieftains of the APC in Delta, including Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi(SPON), Chief O’tega Emerhor, a former governorship candidate of the APC in Delta,Chief Austin Izagbo, Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme, a former PDP governorship aspirant who recently defected to the APC,the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Revd Francis Waive; Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Chief Frank Kokori, Chief Ayiri Emami, Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Chief Ede Dafinone; Elder Omeni Sobotie; Chief Lucky Okperi, Comrade Frank Kokori, Chief Ngozi Olejeme , Austin Nnabuife aka Ojeogbua, Chief Nelson Agbamuche,Philip Elueme, Dr Ben Iwezu, Ambrose Elue-Dike, Hon. Henry Mordi, Peter Okocha and a host of others.








No fewer than five Hundred and fifty(550) cooperators attended the seminar which was held at the Prestigious Royal Event Center in Ibusa,Delta State on Saturday 21st of May 2022. This special one day Capacity Building and Skill Acquisition on farm products and marketing for farmers in Delta North Senatorial District which was attracted and powered by Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (SPON) and was anchored by the Federal Cooperative College,(FCC),Orji River,Enugu State, under the Cooperative value chain.
The Delta North Cooperators, hence, were drawn from the nine(9)local council areas ( Delta North senatorial district) in the state including food processors, fish farmers, crop producers, garri processors, as well as attracted commercial banks,Media groups and traders.
Okeze, also commended the the member representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly and Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs,Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s giant strides in human capital development across the Delta North senatorial district.
Also the Personal Assistance to Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, Hon. Henry Mordi, who spoken to Journalist after the training said that what the Distinguished Senator wants is to get more people into human development. “Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi believes in human capital development; he believes in skills acquisition; he understands that the government is struggling to pay salaries and it would be easier to help people become employers of labour,” he said.
Speaking with journalists in Ibusa on Saturday, one of the participants, Kikachukwu Osadebe a graduate and job seeker said, “Though I am managing a little business, with this training, everything will change, because the opportunity to be here has not just boosted my morale but has also opened my eyes to so many things which will help in sustaining my businesses and I will forever be grateful to the Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and Federal Cooperative College for the genuine interest in helping the society.”
During the training, the participants have grouped themselves into a cooperative society and promise to register and sustain it.
The Director of Procurement, Federal Cooperative College,Orji River, Mr.Idewu.C. Okeze while presenting certificates to the participants said they should count themselves lucky to be part of the training and thank Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi for his genuine passion and interest in the economic advancement of his constituents.

With the new Electoral Act, it is clear that we will have freer and fairer elections — and only young people can and will win,”Nworgor said”.

Senator Nwaoboshi used the occasion to advice youths to embrace agriculture and agricultural value chains because Delta North is blessed with arable land that can be used to cultivate all sorts of food items all year round.
