Omelora is the Best man for the Job come 2023

By: Barr. Andrew Okechukwu

Sir( Dr) Chuks Okonji
(Omelora)

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]reatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged. “When one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Ralph Waldo Emerson handed down the above words of wisdom, those he had in mind were certainly the likes of Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji (Omelora)! .

For the trail-blazing Business mogul from Delta State, it is certainly impossible to gloss over his attributes for greatness. He is the embodiment of cerebral articulation, the essence of unparalleled philanthropy, the epitome of intellection and breathtaking simplicity, the personification of undiluted humanness, the perfect example of business leadership symbolism, the paragon of idealism, the soul of humanity, the heart of warrior, a perfect gentleman. In the gallery of great leaders and great men, he is without doubt, a rare masterpiece. Anyone who encounters him would love to associate with him for his candour, courage and forthrightness. As a human being, his humility and modesty is second to none. As an Businessman, he is sound and engaging.

To describe Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji(Omelora),in a single piece, could be herculean. You will need to juggle the brain because he is a man of many parts, and you might not know from where to begin! But like a popular axiom says, a day begins a story.
A lot has been said, written and, perhaps, recorded about this enigmatic personage that has become a household name across Delta State, Nigeria, Europe and even other parts of the world. There is unarguably no part of the country that his name does not ring a bell as a Nigerian famous Business man because he has touched lots of lives.

I had my first encounter with Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji  about seventy years ago and his personality revealed a man with an admirable mien – a friendly, unassuming, modest, and quintessential gentleman. As time passed, I saw a man richly endowed with the spirit of making others happy by giving and not getting tired. That was how he warmed his way into the hearts of Oshimili people and became a household name, personifying philanthropism. How do I further describe him? A completely detribalized Nigerian and a social crusader, who means different things to different people.

The flair and panache with which he combines and joggles all his demanding responsibilities, is a testimony to his nimble faculties and alert mind. But, Sir Okonji is however, a man who never rests on his oars.
I found him, a man who appears not to take life too serious, jokes about everything, yet very principled, humane and sometimes, unpredictable. His passion for the welfare of the youths, plight of the down trodden as well as the wellbeing of the people around his environs is second to none.

As the journey towards 2023 continues to unfold, the political system has unveiled the faces of key players that would dominate the politics of Nigeria in a post-2023 era but Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji is the most competent person at this moment to represent(Ibusa) Oshimili North at the Delta State House of Assembly come 2023.
One illustrious son of Ibusa who has decided to throw his hat into the ring to serve the people of Oshimili North in the Delta State House of Assembly is Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji through the political platform of APM. Here is an individual, who is determined and well groomed to take the centre stage in order to bring the needed quality leadership and stewardship on behalf of the good people of Oshimili North. Leadership is all about the people. Representation is all about service. And when you want to serve the people, it is strategic to locate a man who would be humble enough to be of service to the people, not the biggest man in the community who would be there to lord it on the people. Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji truly fits the bill as a man of inimitable wealth but totally humble and devoted to serving the people without asking for anything in return.

Omelora is an uncommon politician with the right conviction to dare the impossible and make things work for our people. He has touched lives in all the local government areas of Delta North mostly in Oshimili and such persons are in the APC, PDP and other political parties. That is the kind of man that would be in the Delta State House of Assembly to represent the people of Oshimili North in 2023 so that all could benefit from his representation irrespective of the political party. Omelora has provided scholarships to a countless number of persons across Delta state for those in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. He has trained and equip women and youths in livelihood skills, like tailoring, hairdressing, welding, computer education, catering and other skills.

Yes, Ndi Oshimili North deserve New Beginnings that is expected to arrive in June 2023, and it doesn’t have to matter what naysayers may say., Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji would not be going to the Delta State House of Assembly to make wealth or amass crude wealth for self and family. He is contented in life and simply needs a platform to serve his people better. He would bring changes to the office and invest much credibility in the rating of Oshimili North before the world. His humane, temperate and well-groomed candour stands him out as the finest gentleman to assume the Oshimili North seat in the Delta State House of Assembly. He is a remarkable achiever who by dint of hard work and dedication, rose to the pinnacle of his career as a Public Servant and acccomplished business man. His forthrightness, hue, sagacity and dedication to the Anioma course epitomizes the kind of leader the people of Oshimili North need to voice their concerns at the state Assembly.

The 2023 elections on all fronts, is one that must be given our sincere consideration, devoid of sentiments that seek to glorify the prevalence of rhetorics, hence for us at Oshimili North Constituency of Delta State, the choice of a representative is a definite attempt to create a contemporary history that gifts the people the chance of A NEW BEGINNING.
In the face of these realities, Sir(Dr)Chuks Okonji has learnt like a good student of life, however the lessons he has learnt have put him in better stead, with improved sagacity and experience, while also deepening his resolve to not take the easy way out, because the easy way is not always the best way.

His resolve is what strikes a note to keen followers and observers, as despite the events of 2019 Chuks Okonji’s personality has not assumed any conceited dimension, neither does he exude negative vibes or become toxic to those who come in contact with him.
Oshimili North is our home, our love and our pride, but we know the extent of victimization and vindictive politics that is played in it, where Chuks Okonji is the ready target, nevertheless he is all out to get the better end of any development, not just for himself, but for as many people as possible.

Celebrating the Birthday of an Iconic Businessman

By: Ike Philip Abiagom

Ogom Augustine NWAOBOSHI

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]reatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged.”When one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Ralph Waldo Emerson handed down the above words of wisdom, those he had in mind were certainly the likes of Augustine Ogom Nwaoboshi (Gomboshi)! .

Indeed, to those who know him up close and personal, Ogom Augustine Nwaoboshi is an enigma: humble, self-effacing,industrious, practical, efficient by nature, diligent, always thinking about things he needs to accomplish or how to get ahead on his next assignment,a complete Leo,if you care to assess him by his Zodiac sign. But in plain terms, he is a case of a man who set out to always make a difference wherever he found himself. Not the kind of difference other men pursue to grandstand, but the type that impacts humanity and makes life easier for people. And of this, his track record is unassailable. A look back at his trajectory gives a chronicle of exemplary service to his community and a profile of pure patriotism from an individual.

Ogom Augustine  Nwaoboshi is one of those very few good men;a true philanthropist, an accomplished business conglomerate,An Iconic Figure, An International Businessman, A leader, A promoter of Peace in whom I am well pleased ,a man of valour, the bringer of rain.In the gallery of great leaders and great men, he is without doubt, a rare masterpiece. Anyone who encounters him would love to associate with him for his candour, courage and forthrightness. As a human being, his humility and modesty is second to none. As an Businessman, he is sound and engaging.

Augustine ogom Nwaoboshi,he means different things to different people; to his wife and children, he is a loving husband and a kind daddy, while to us his admirers he is known as the Digital Business Strategist but his detractors always erroneously see him as an Obstacle because of his rising profile in business and acceptance by the grassroots.

Augustine Ogom Nwaoboshi is not only the Pride of Nwaoboshi’s but also the Pride of the People of Ibusa for whom he had waged countless business wars for and won virtually all, just like the Greek mythological Odyssey who fought and won difficult battles in History. Indeed the birthday celebration of this digital conglomerate of our time had been useful and Resourceful for his service to humanity. Therefore today let me on behalf of the Grassroots Publishers and Newsbreeze Magazine join the rest of my beloved Ibusa kingdom in Oshimili North Local government Area of Deltans and Nigerians at large to Celebrate our Business iconoclastic Gomboshi International, to thank Almighty God for adding another year to his life and to pray that he continues to bless him with robust health ,protection, and enduring provision.Your business reign shall bring prosperity and peace to Ibusa and your family.
Happy birthday to the regent, Chairman of Conglomerates,a great lover of our tradition.

Wike explains how Rivers people will vote in 2023, gives reasons for inviting Sanwo-Olu to Port Harcourt

[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ivers state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that anybody who despises the political capability of the state will be meted with the same treatment.

Governor Wike made the declaration at the inauguration of the Orochiri -Worukwo (Waterlines junction) Flyover that was performed by the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Port Harcourt on Monday.

The Rivers state governor explained that the dynamics of contemporary politics has made it unpopular to just gift votes away without the assurance of derivable benefit for the people.

“If you say Rivers state does not matter, Rivers state will tell you that you don’t also matter at the appropriate time. If you don’t like us, we will not like you. If you like us, we will like you.

“Nobody will use our votes for nothing. Our votes will matter and Rivers state must benefit from anybody that we are going to support.

“Politics now is no longer just vote for somebody, it is about what you will do for the people of Rivers state.”

Governor Wike pointed to how difficult it will be for any conspirators to upset the voting pattern of Rivers state and support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The governor reiterated that those who looted the treasury of the state will not be supported to become governor of Rivers state.

“My guest from Lagos state, let nobody tell you story that anybody will come here to win as governor of Rivers state. It will not happen.

“Those who looted the treasury of the state will not come here to be governor of Rivers state and I have challenged them.

“I am fully in charge. I am not that kind of governor people will go to Abuja and hold meetings against. I am fully in charge here.”

Governor Wike also berated Mr. Yemi Adebowale over his ThisDay publication in which he peddled misinformation in his ‘RingTrue’ column article titled, ” Wike, a Governor Possessed By Spirit of Flyovers.”

The governor noted the obvious unhappy mindset of the writer for his dislikes for development and hatred for Rivers people who are happy with the ongoing development strides of his administration.

“First of all, let me state, if there is one state that pays salary regularly, it is Rivers state. Let me also state, every month we pay pensioners. Let me also state since we have been paying gratuity, have you been hearing anybody talking on radio?

Governor Wike also challenged those who are envious of his development strides to rather show what capacity they have by executing projects and invite renown persons to inaugurate them.

He explained the invitation of the Lagos state governor is not the first time persons of other political parties were invited to inaugurate projects in Rivers state.

He pointed to the overall benefits such invitations have on governance because it served as peer review for them.

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who inaugurated the Orochiri-Worokwu (Waterlines) Flyover, commended Governor Wike for his strong commitment to the delivery of physical infrastructure in Rivers state.

“I would like to specially commend my brother, Governor Wike, for his strong commitment to the delivery of physical infrastructure in Rivers state, a commitment that has been recognized by all and sundry, and which has earned him the appellation of “Mr. Projects” within and outside Rivers state.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu said though himself and governor Wike belong to different political persuasions, the invitation extended to him sends a very strong message that politicians and political leaders, can come together across political and ideological divides, for the good of the people.

“There is also a strong message being made today about expanding our capacity to play politics without bitterness. This symbolic gesture by my friend and brother is one that should become standard practice across Nigeria.

“There is also a lot that we can learn from one another, and experience that we can translate from one part of the country to the other.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu further added: “Ultimately, we are all in governance to touch the lives of the people for good; to deliver to them the dividends of democracy. There is no doubt that Governor Wike has spent his last seven years focused on this, just as we have similarly been doing in Lagos.”

Providing the description of the project, the Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dakorinama George-Kelly said the project has been completed on schedule with specified quality.

“The project has an overall length of 840 meters and overall cross sectional width of 17.6meters, 7.3 meters on each lane. It has 1 meter walkway on both sides, and 2 meter of media. We have a total of asphaltic pavement area of 29000 square meters.

“This flyover bridge brings to amend traffic congestion along the Port Harcourt -Aba Expressway because right from the Bori Park Flyover down to Eastern By-pass, there will be no traffic congestion. So, there will be ease of doing business around Port Harcourt and Rivers people will benefit from it.”

In his speech, Regional Manager of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, Juergen Fischer, noted that history had been made with the opening for public use the 7th Flyover awarded to them for construction.

He thanked Governor Wike for the trust reposed in Julius Berger Nigeria PLC to handle such huge projects for the State Government.

Two former Nigerian governors released from jail after serving prison sentence

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he duo of former governor Joshua Dariye and Jolly Nyame who were granted a presidential pardon by President Buhari a few months ago have been released by the authorities of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Both former governors were serving jail terms for corruption allegations until they were granted pardons by President Buhari, a development that received a lot of negative reactions.

Recall that the Council of State led by President Muhammadu Buhari had in April approved the pardon of 159 convicts. They both served as governors of Plateau and Taraba states respectively.

Dariye and Nyame were both jailed for stealing N1.16bn and N1.6bn, respectively.

The two former governors were convicted by Justice Adebukola Banjoko of the Abuja High Court in 2018.

Dariye, who was Plateau Governor from 1999 to 2007, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. But his term was eventually reduced to 10 years by the Court of Appeal in Abuja, while his conviction was affirmed by the Supreme Court.

Rev Nyame, who was Taraba Governor from 1999 to 2007, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for stealing N1.6bn from the state’s treasury. The judgment was also upheld by the Supreme Court.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who addressed journalists after the Council of State meeting, noted that the council approved 159 out of 162 applications presented for consideration for the prerogative of mercy for convicts and inmates in correctional facilities nationwide.

Tony Ide Nwaka is the Best man for the Job come 2023

Dr Ide Tony Nwaka

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o describe Dr Ide Tony Nwaka, in a single piece, could be herculean. You will need to juggle the brain because he is a man of many parts, and you might not know from where to begin! But like a popular axiom says, a day begins a story.

A lot has been said, written and, perhaps, recorded about this enigmatic personage that has become a household name across Delta State, Nigeria and even other parts of the world. There is unarguably no part of the country that his name does not ring a bell as a Nigerian famous writer because he has written lots of book.

I had my first encounter with Dr Ide Tony Nwaka in 2003, during an assignment at Aniocha South Local Government Area Council in Ogwashi-Uku, the local government headquarters. when he was the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area at the time, and when he eventually addressed us (Publishers) at the event, his personality revealed a man with an admirable mien – a friendly, unassuming, modest, and quintessential gentleman.

As time passed, I saw a man richly endowed with the spirit of making others happy by giving and not getting tired. That was how he warmed his way into the hearts of Aniocha people and became a household name, personifying philanthropism. How do I further describe him? One illustrious son of Aniocha who has decided to throw his hat into the ring to serve the people of Aniocha/ Oshimili in the lower chambers of the National Assembly is Dr Ide Tony Nwaka. Here is an individual, who is determined and well groomed to take the centre stage in order to bring the needed quality leadership and stewardship on behalf of the good people of Aniocha/ Oshimili. Tony Nwaka truly fits the bill as a man of inimitable wealth but totally humble and devoted to serving the people without asking for anything in return.

Ide is an uncommon politician with the right conviction to dare the impossible and make things work for our people. He has touched lives in all the local government areas of Delta North mostly in Aniocha/Oshimili and such persons are in the APC, PDP and other political parties. That is the kind of man that would be in the House of Representative to represent the people of Aniocha/Oshimili in 2023 so that all could benefit from his representation irrespective of the political party. Dr Ide Tony Nwaka has provided scholarships to a countless number of persons across Delta state for those in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. He has trained and equip women and youths in livelihood skills, like tailoring, hairdressing, welding, computer education, catering and other skills.

As remarked by other writers, Ide Tony Nwaka would not be going to the Federal House of Representative to make wealth or amass crude wealth for self and family. He is contented in life and simply needs a platform to serve his people better. He would bring changes to the office and invest much credibility in the rating of Aniocha/ Oshimili before the world. His humane, temperate and well-groomed candour stands him out as the finest gentleman to assume the Aniocha/ Oshimili seat in the Lower Chambers. He is a remarkable achiever who by dint of hard work and dedication, rose to the pinnacle of his career as a Public policy consultant and novelist. Ph.D (Political and Social History). His forthrightness, hue, sagacity and dedication to the Anioma course epitomizes the kind of leader the people of Aniocha/ Oshimili need to voice their concerns at the Lower chambers.

Having Ide Nwaka as our Lower Chambers Representative for Aniocha/ Oshimili will surely give the people a voice that would stimulate socio-cultural and political renaissance as well as a sense of belonging and ultimately, peace, unity, progress and development. He will not be garrulous or grandstand over anything but will be an effective representative who will mirror the pains and expectations of the common man in his political undertakings.

Nwaka is one honest achiever to the core that should not be traded for any politician who would be in Abuja to play politics with our common heritage. He has maintained fidelity to his political vision and He will pursue his duties and responsibilities with diligence, candour, and maturity. The people of Aniocha/ Oshimili will rally round and support APC House Of Representative candidate, Dr Ide Tony Nwaka because he represents light and certainly the best man for the job come 2023.

DR NWAKA, A TRUE ANIOCHA/OSHIMILI PATRIOT

Dr Ide Tony Nwaka

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]igerian Prolific writer and Public Policy Consultant,Four times Commissioner, two times Local government Chairman, former Algon Chairman all in Delta State, Dr Tony Felix Nwaka,(IDE) is a veteran in political party administration is not at all in doubt and so, it is given that he would become a huge asset to the All Progressive Congress (APC), on his joining the ruling party. What was doubtful for me, was whether the APC would be composed to leveraging the freshness and the abundance of what the ‘IDE’ himself has to offer as the next House of Representative member to represent Aniocha /Oshimili in the lower chambers come 2023.
With a cognisant and superb tutelage, leading to cognate service, straddling several years, including a concluding headship as former Algon Chairman all in Delta State,Dr Tony Felix Nwaka is wholly equipped for what he is doing.

I have often advanced that knowledge, encompassed in hard work, envisages, and most likely would lead to success, but I also insist that this does not discount experience. IDE is a tested politician. Besides his administrative prowess, he has also proved to be a dependable ally, amplified in the partnership that now exist between him and other APC aspirants.

Beyond the patriotism so displayed in the discharge of the onerous task to structure the emergence of an inclusive APC EXCO in Delta State, Dr Tony Nwaka, since his aligning with the APC, has visibly, in concert with DSP Omo-Agege extended the hope of a deserving victory for the APC in Delta State.

IDE is a well thought venture in APC, not because I said it but the reality is that his antecedents and previous endeavours as a politician, coupled with a profuse capacity for intuitive engagement are reasonable collateral. That is my humble opinion.
It is therefore baffling and exasperatingly mortifying, to see the stiffening of a few against what obviously is a turnaround in the hitherto bleak fortunes of APC in Aniocha/Oshimili, through the occurrence of Tony Nwaka in party. It is more disturbing when one sees that the loudest voices of opposition come from the immediate beneficiaries of the Tony Nwaka’s rise to prominence, particularly from the Aniocha/Oshimili axis.

As a chronicler of history, I have to testify that a man who was four times Commissioner, two times Local government Chairman, former Algon Chairman all in Delta State, Dr Tony Felix Nwaka,(IDE),did what many people who became local government chairman in Nigeria never did. He actually impacted on his environment and left a legacy for posterity.

High Performing Leaders are vision creators, team builders, task allocators, People Developers, and motivation Stimulators. And this is the kind of leader Dr Tony Felix Nwaka,(IDE) is. Ide’s entrance into APC and his holy anger to turn around the fortune of his land have paid off on his image. The uncommon transformation he brought to bear in the Aniocha/ Oshimili District today has made him one of the most popular political image in the state in terms of good representation.

This is responsible for hundreds of honours that have been bestowed on him by diverse institutions and groups. The law of harvest is to reap more than you sew. Sow an act, and you reap a habit. Sow a habit and you reap a character. Sow a character and you reap a destiny.
Ndi Aniocha/Oshimili and APC have every reason to be proud of Nwaka – an illustrious son whose political influence has brought multiple gains to Aniocha/Oshimili, evidenced by the several projects in infrastructure either attracted or personally provided by the IDE. In human capital development, Ide has, and is still empowering both youths and women in various trades and businesses to make them self-reliant. Many more are also now on his payroll, sole effort of IDE to alleviate the sufferings of his people.
From the start of Hon. Nwaka’s political career, he has shown remarkably that he towers in the realm of the spiritual. His agility, astuteness and mental power resonates the personification of a genius hominis. Hon. Nwaka is indeed a genius of a peculiar nature and his rise to stardom can only be so explained. Beset of many battles and the unyielding resentment from displeased, less endowed contemporaries, he has maintained his usual calm demeanor, a torrential facade concealing the lethality that is a possibility in the man Nwaka.
We are not in any argument with those who wonder whether any good thing can come out of our Hon. Nwaka?. We are not convincing people that our dear Aniocha/Oshimili has been transformed by this Political Messiah or respond to the demagogic rhetoric and hypocritical lies of those who have had their consciences scared with the fiery irons of falsehood and bigotry. We came to say to you to that the political wave of IDE will sweep Aniocha/Oshimili come 2023.

Testimonies are being given from all facets of the Delta North society, including traditional rulers, Politicians, Civil Servants, churches have all testified to this uncommon transformation strides.Students, are not left out; even the opposing political parties are not comfortable with Dr Nwaka Political wave and popularity. The entire Anioma/oshimili people will continue to pray for the Almighty God to grant him good health to enjoy the rest of his days. We also wish Our Leader the wisdom like that of King Solomon to continue to play his excellent leadership role for his Anioma/oshimili people. If no be IDE, na who else e go be?

We will be watching the unfolding of 2023 and we believe that the deepening successes of Dr Tony Felix Nwaka, by the grace of God, shall have no end.
