Delta State Executive Council (Exco) has confirmed the appointment of HRM{Obi}Professor Epiphany Azinge,SAN,OON, as the 14th Asagba of Asaba Kingdom in Oshimili South Local government area with this official pronouncement and it is expected to be subsequently gazetted.
The State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, briefed newsmen on Monday after an Executive Council (Exco) meeting at Government House Asaba. He said, “The EXCO Council confirmed Professor Epiphany Azinge,SAN,OON, as the 14th Asagba of Asaba Kingdom in Oshimili South Local government area.
The Crowing of the 14th Asagba of Asaba received overwhelming acceptance and jubilation over the emergence of the new Asagba, His Royal Majesty, Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge (SAN,OON) because he is the most acceptable and qualified person to ascend the throne. Apart from a lone voice coming from one of the contenders to the throne,Ogbueshi Anthony Ogugua Konwea,who was said to have emerged second in the selection exercise has headed to Court to challenge the selection process in the Suit No:DTHC/ASB/CV/254/2024 filed before Justice P. N. Obanor of the Delta State High Court of Justice.
The people of Asaba , Anioma and Nigeria in general are very hopeful that HRM{Obi}Professor Epiphany Azinge ascension to the throne will make a remarkable impact on the peace and harmonious co-existence of all inhabitants of Asaba kingdom, because the people of Asaba kingdom have a long history of good neighbourliness, peace, and love, both among themselves and other inhabitants.
