The Special Assistance to the Governor on Youth Moblisation for Ward 8,in Oshimili North LGA, Chief Austin Ndinwa( Okemili Igbuzor), has congratulated the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on being conferred with an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Public Policy and Strategy by the Governing Council of Novena University, Ogume,in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the governance of the state.
Chief Ndinwa in a statement by sign him, he described the honour as heartwarming and a recognition of his sundry contributions to democratic development and nation-building spanning three decades.
Chief Ndinwa also noted that the impact made by Governor Oborevwori on Human Rights, National Integration and Infrastructural Development, which is part of the consideration for the award, is visible for all to see as the Governor has distinguished himself in those areas in his public service trajectory. He expressed optimism that the latest honour would spur the former Governor to carry out more selfless service to Delta State, Nigeria, the global community and humanity in general in years to come.
Chief Ndinwa expressed gratitude to the authorities of Novena University for finding Governor Oborevwori worthy of the honour which he said is well deserved and a gesture of his recognition as advocate of national unity.
“We share in the joy of this well-earned recognition of our leader, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori,the Governor of the state and a global citizen whose service to the state, country and humanity is priceless.
“On behalf of my Ward 8 in Oshimili North LGA, the people of Oshimili North LGA, I congratulate our amiable leader on this milestone and pray that the good Lord continue to sustain him with his grace and favour as he continues to work for the development of mankind”, the Ndinwa added.
The award was presented during Novena University’s 5th Convocation Ceremony, where the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving education and addressing challenges facing institutions in Delta State. Governor Oborevwori also announced the donation of a 200-capacity hall to enhance the institution’s infrastructure.
