[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Nigerian writer and Public Policy Consultant,Four times Commissioner,two times Local government Chairman,former Algon Chairman in Delta State, Dr Tony Felix Nwaka,(IDE), emerged candidate of the party in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency after polling 130 votes to beat his opponent, Barr Dennis Nwanokwai who scored 72 votes at an election conducted at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba.
The Returning Officer, declared Dr Nwaka the winner of the contest for polling the highest number of votes in what he described as a free, fair and transparent election.
According to the Returning Officer, at the close of voting, 202 delegates were accredited, no void votes and all the votes were counted.
“At the end, Dr Tony Felix Nwaka, scored 130 votes; Barr. Dennis Okeiukwu Nwanukwai, scored 72 votes.
” Dr Nwaka, having scored the highest votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned as the candidate of the APC for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election.
Speaking after his declaration as the winner, Dr Nwaka assured his constituents of robust representation and dividends of democracy.
He said though he emerged top in the primaries, there was no loser as it was a family affair and not a contest.
Dr Nwaka thanked , APC ,DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and the people of the constituency for giving him the platform to serve.
He expressed confidence that APC would win the general elections without hitch in the state and at the centre. The Grassroots Publishers reports that the election was closely monitored by a combined team of security agencies,the media and other stakeholders.
