In response to the declining standard of education across the nation — and particularly in Igbuzo — Vebron Carre, a USA-based organization, has announced plans to award scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of Igbuzo beginning in January 2026.

The decision was reached during a recent meeting of the Board of Directors held simultaneously at Vebron Carre’s Head Office in Durham, North Carolina, the President’s Office, and the Philadelphia Office in the United States.
Speaking at the meeting, the President of Vebron Carre, Obi Dr. Henry Chukwuma Ajudua, described Igbuzo as an intellectually distinguished community that has produced over a hundred academic professors, numerous medical doctors, and several career civil servants who rose to the peak of their professions as Permanent Secretaries at both state and federal levels.

He, however, lamented that the foundation that once nurtured such academic excellence has drastically eroded over the years.
“One of the major reasons for this decline,” Obi Ajudua noted, “is the financial hardship many parents face, which has hindered their ability to adequately fund their children’s education.”

After extensive deliberation, the Board resolved to initiate a scholarship scheme with the following guidelines:

1. The scholarship shall be instituted and managed by Vebron Carre.

2. Beneficiaries shall be selected based on academic performance.

3. The program shall initially cover students of Igbuzo origin across the four secondary schools in Igbuzo, serving as a pilot phase.
4. The scheme shall take effect from January 2026.
To ensure proper implementation, Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua (Eze Udo I of Igbuzo) announced that a committee would be constituted to design the modalities for both the scholarship selection process and the award ceremony.
With this initiative, Vebron Carre aims to rekindle the flame of educational excellence for which Igbuzo was once renowned, offering renewed hope to the next generation of scholars from the community.
