[dropcap]U[/dropcap]rinating is a normal thing for a child to do because, it is a sign of healthy living that the kidneys and bladders are working. But it might be annoying when it is done at the wrong time, like Bedwetting.
So, bedwetting is a major concern for every parent, because, it can destroy the mattress and make it stink. So in this article, Above_Inspiration has gathered the 3 effective ways I used to stop my child from bedwetting.
Note: These processes take time and don’t stop them from bedwetting immediately, but gradually, they’ll stop bedwetting.
According to the topic, my child used to urinate on the bed at night, but after doing these 3 things he stopped urinating on the bed.
1. I Encouraged bathroom trips before bedtime.
One of the best ways to prevent a child from bedwetting is to help them empty their bladder. Telling them to urinate before going to bed is one of the most effective ways to stop them from bedwetting because when their bladder is empty, it’ll take a while for it to be filled again. And this will lead us to the second effective way, which is to get an alarm clock for them.
2. I Got an alarm clock for my child
It is important to get an alarm clock for your child especially the older ones as this will help to stop them from bedwetting. You can set this alarm clock at 4 hours interval, so that they’ll wake up every 4 hours to urinate and when this becomes constant like they’re doing it every day, it will be part of them and they will learn to wake up by themselves to urinate.
3. Check for constipation
Constipation most times is the major reason of Urinating on the bed at night because when colon close to the bladder is filled with hard or large poop, it will mount pressure on the bladder and this will make your child to bed wet. Try as much to make sure that your child poops normally by giving your child enough fluids and vegetables for easier bowel movements.
