[dropcap]T[/dropcap]ragedy was averted on Sunday when two heavy duty vehicles including a tanker carrying petroleum product collided on the Niger Bridge causing traffic gridlock.
According to a statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command noted that no life was lost in the accident.
The release signed by the Command’s Ag. Sector Public Education Officer, RC Kamal Musa, said the mishap was caused by wrongful overtaking and over-speeding on Sunday morning.
“According to eyewitnesses, a total of five male adults involved all came out without injury. The crash was caused by wrongful overtaking while on top speed.
“The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, warns motorists to shun over speeding and dangerous overtaking while on the high ways.”
