[dropcap]T[/dropcap]HE Obi of Atuma-Iga Kingdom in Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Chukwuka Daniel Ogbudo, has urged the State Government to direct as appropriate, the relevant organs of the government to embarked on the construction and tarring of the old link road between Atuma-Iga and Okpanam Community so as to facilitate the movement of the residents of the areas.
The monarch spoke in an interview at Atuma-Iga recently
He urged the Government to tar the road from Ajaji Quarters, Atuma-Iga to Okpanam, saying that if the road is tarred, it would boost the economic activities in the area and facilitate the movement of farm products/produce to urban towns/cities, especially to the state capital territory, and its environs, and equally enhance the living standard of the people.
The monarch also stated that the if the road was constructed, it would facilitate the movement of traders from the various part of the state, Onitsha as well as other market to buy and sell goods, adding that this effort will in turn, enhance the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state for better performance.
He also advocated in another development that it will be good for the present administration in the state, to establish a directorate of project monitoring, like in the past in the state whose responsibility would be for the strict and effective monitoring of the people-oriented projects embarked upon by the state government, in order to ensure that projects are not left uncompleted or abandoned.
