Newsbreeze Editor,Azuka Okocha Buries Mother In Grand Style

Dignitaries from all walks of life stormed Asaba, the Capital of Delta State to pay their last respect to Newsbreeze Editor Azuka Okocha’s mother who was buried on Friday,17th May,2024.

The late Mrs Feilicia Obiashue Okocha(Nee Oyali) who died at age of 77 years, was buried amidst pomp and celebration. On Thursday, the vigil mass took place at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Asaba and her daughter, Mrs Lucy Uju Modebe reminisced on their relationship with their late mother.

Some relatives, lovers and admirers of the late Mrs Okocha spoke about how she made a tremendous impact on their individual lives.

Speaking on the life and time of his mother, Chukwuwedo Okocha described her as a philanthropist to a fault, saying she gave her all to the underprivileged even at the expense of her immediate family and said she will be missed alot.

According to the erudite News Editor of Newsbreeze, AzuKa Okocha “My mother is indeed the biblical Proverb 31 version of a woman. She’s a mother that we really pray to have in the next world.

“Our mother is a caring, prayerful, responsible, lovely and charismatic woman.

“She believed in service to humanity even at the detriment of her own children. Without mincing words, she’s a golden jewel.”

In his sermon, the officiating minister of God, the Reverend father Peter Nwankwo of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Asaba, charged the congregants and Nigerians to live their lives by making a positive impact in the life of others, particularly the underprivileged. He recalled how dedicated the late Mrs Felicia Okocha, was to serve God and humanity.

The clergy said: “We should all learn from the life of our late mother, Mrs Okocha, how dedicated she was to God’s service.

“She’s known in our community here that she rendered assistance to so many people irrespective of tribe or religion.

“We came with nothing and we shall surely depart with nothing.

“Success is how much you are able to make an impact in the life of others living around you.”

The man of the people Azuka Okocha will be remembered for his show of love towards his 77 years old late mother both in life and death; the benevolence which also was extended to members of his family.

The reception which held at the Asagba Mixed Secondary School at Asaba, in Oshimili South Local Government Area open field was a classic one, as guests, friends and well wishers of Okocha family were sumptuously entertained.
