The joy of every mother in their latter days is to live to witness the success of their children and reap the sweat of their labor and exemplary upbringing. It is also gratifying and heartwarming to see your children and family celebrates you when still on mother Earth, This was the uncommon feeling of Mrs Ndidi Odum-nee Nwaoboshi, the most senior sister to Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi as he alongside his ever supportive family members threw a private but superlative birthday bash for their dotting senior sister, Mrs Ndidi Odum on the occasion of the matriarch’s 70th birthday in grand style.

Prophet (Bishop)Godwill Umunna, General Overseer of Truth Foundation Healing Temple
For those in need of solution to their respective life issues, Prophet, Bishop(Dr) Godswill Umunna, popularly known as Prophet, the Spiritual Director of Truth Foundation Healing Temple, TFHT, is the vessel through which the answers lie. As one of the most sought-after preachers globally, Prophet Umunna, as he is also referred to in some quarters, is a staunch believer, whose forte is repentance, family reconciliation, deliverance and miracles. But beyond this, the Ibusa native in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, is also passionate about touching lives either through his Healing Temple Foundation or even during his ministrations where thousands throng in from all over seeking answers to their problems. In this interview with Newsbreeze Crew at his office in Ibusa, he bares it all- his childhood, journey to ministry, the three-fold consecration to his calling, the foundation, plans for expansion, mentorship and even word for his detractors
So Prophet, what has been happening. Seeing the crowd, all struggling to see you, when do you create time for yourself?
It’s a lot. I don’t know the last time I closed my eyes to sleep like two hours- there is no night I sleep like 2 hours. Out of emotions and sympathy, I will be seeing people after the service, counselling, holding meetings. Even the time of Jesus, he did not do it like this because the Bible said sometimes he would disappear. But my own is too much. I used to be too emotional about people’s problem is one of my biggest problem. I am the kind of person that does not like to withstand someone’s tears.
What efforts are you making to reduce the workload. Are you mentoring people to ease that burden?
Yes we do. We are having sons of the prophet programme now. The work is too much for one person. I cannot be in 10 places at a time. It’s a big challenge. We need a lot of ministers who can help. So, we are training some people already.
In spite of the hours or days that people spend, waiting to see you, they remain undaunted, probably because they are getting results. But they are getting results?
Why won’t they get results? When you keep yourself and you are honest to what you are doing, the power of God is available. Do you know the level of people that come here- if they are not getting what they are coming for, you won’t be seeing them.
So as a person, how do you feel that people are thronging here to come and see you?
When they are coming, what comes to my mind is ‘you have to keep maintaining what you are doing that made people to me coming here’. I don’t feel proud or arrogant about it. I just say ‘oh Lord, who am I? I give You all Glory. Give me grace to always be faithful and not to disappoint You. Because so many Men of God started very well with principle but at a time, they fell. I am always conscious of it that I don’t want to make mistakes of other prophets.
Other than God, what will you attribute the rapid rise of Truth Foundation Healing Temple to?
I don’t think there’s anything else to attribute the growth of Truth Foundation Healing Temple to, other than God, because it’s more than human comprehension. Even me, I cannot believe it. I know that when I was small, I used to see a lot of crowd that I am talking to-hundreds that I could not see their faces, but I didn’t know it would come this far. There’s no time you will come here and not see people from all over.
So, how have you overcome the temptation?
It’s not easy but with determination leads to success and the grace of God. Saint Paul said three times I prayed to God to take away the torn of my flesh but instead of God taking it away, He said ‘my grace is sufficient’. So, the consciousness that these three vows are attached to my destiny, that if I break any of them, I might have problem, is always ringing in my subconscious. Some ladies are coming but I can’t joke with this grace. That is why I am still keeping to this grace.
You don’t place adverts yet your ministry is still growing in leaps and bounds. What do you attribute this growth to?
It’s just the Grace of God that God wants to do this work through this person. We have no signboard. We are not even powerful in the media. Yet if you come here, you see thousands of people from across the globe every time. We have bought a lot of lands so we can expand, still, you can’t pass. We can’t do any big programme here. It’s the grace and anointing of God but you maintain it with sacrifice. I am a man of sacrifice. I fast a lot and I have a lot of things I do personally. Seeing the level of work God has given to me, I go to Him as a baby and tell him that I didn’t pray for this kind of ministry so He should not allow me to make a mistake. Also, the things I preach, I try to do them. I have never asked anybody in Truth Foundation Healing Temple to pay money. I have never ask people to pay money to see me. Of course, with the way people gather to see me, if I put my consultation fee at N10 million people will pay. But I will never because, freely I receive, freely I will give. I believe that God still works, but some don’t keep the principles.
So, how would you explain the miracles that are witnessed here regularly?
I don’t think there is anything I would attribute it to except God. Because it’s more than human comprehension. Even me, I can’t believe it. A lawyer from Canada brought a Tesla of over one hundred million. I was praying during Open Heavens and I prophesied that he was going to have a breakthrough. I mentioned his name, I didn’t know him before and it happened. So, I don’t know how God does His miracles, I just prophesy. Sometimes I hear the voice clearly and sometimes it’s like me watching television. If you come to me one-on-one, I can just ask you to open your hands and I will start telling you things about you. Ask some governors, past and present senators, etc, who have come to see me here, they will tell you.
With all these miracles, which is the most memorable?
The lame working and the blind seeing happens almost all the time but it’s that of young boys surrendering their charms, giving their lives to Christ. Many youths come here and I usually tell them that you cannot be a Christian and have charms on your body. The Yahoo boys answer altar call, submitting the rings that they were using to charm people. Even many native doctors submitting their charms. To me, the salvation of souls, people coming back to Jesus Christ is what stands out for me.
What do you say to those who doubt the authenticity of your miracles, especially those who make negative comments on social media?
Initially, it was not easy because you know I have siblings and family members who see these things. People are talking about one person, and you have not come close. Well, they can’t really understand what we are doing here because the Bible says that a carnal mind cannot understand the things of the Holy Spirit. You must be a spiritual person to understand Bishop (Dr)Godswill Umunna. You cannot go to the club and from there make videos of people falling and you cannot understand why people fall on the ground. They did the same to our Lord Jesus Christ. People said He was using the power of Beelzebub to do miracles. People also criticised all the prophets of old. But it’s like my own is getting too much. One thing that gives me joy though is that upon all the things they are saying about me, multitudes still come here and people who love what is happening here are more than those against me. We even have more people coming from outside . My response is, God bless them. One day, the Holy Spirit will open their eyes to know who I am and what I represent.
What would be your advice to any young man who wants to succeed in the ministry?
He must first be sure he has the calling; because so many people today are pastors without the call. They would have been better in business or other areas. So far you are not called to be a pastor or minister, you would not do well, no matter how you pray. Also, you have to have financial discipline. You must be disciplined with women also. Anointing is attractive. So far you have the grace, women will be coming even more. You know women like men with authority. If you are not disciplined with women, you will end up shamefully. But if you are careful with women and money, you will go far in ministry. Pride is another factor. These are the three things that destroy men of God; you will see married women who will ask you to have children for them and their husbands will not know. If you are careful with women, money and you take pride away, you will go far if you have the call.
How do you unwind after such hectic schedules?
My big problem now is that I can’t go out alone. I can’t walk the streets alone. There is nothing like enjoyment, except praying to God and people testifying about what God is doing for them through me. I don’t know when last I ate good food because I fast every day. There’s no enjoyment. If you come to my house, you will see the vehicles that people brought. Where do I go? What gives me joy is seeing the miracles that God is doing and people giving their lives to Christ.
The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example, quipped 19th-century statesman Benjamin Disraeli, and in Nigerian philanthropic circles, no current name is greater and no current example more worthy of emulation than that of Obi Dr. Henry Ajudua 1. His Royal Majesty,Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, the 14th Asagba of Asaba is the kind of king monarchs aspire to be. The popular saying that a golden fish has no hiding place has been proven right with the identification of the sterling qualities of Obi(Professor) Epiphany Azinge, SAN,OON and his benevolent activities towards the advancement of human development. It has also been said that hidden treasures are always found deep down and those who intend to bring them to the fore need to dig deep to bring forth the precious stones that are always coated in dirt.
Prof. Azinge a completely self-made man of substance and one who parades a distinguished, intimidating and robust profile which has been gained within a space of 44 years of his venturing into Law profession could be described as a man who has washed his hands well and deserves to eat with not only his elders but also his fathers.
Obi Epiphany Azinge is ever ready to dedicate his life for the betterment of his beloved Community Asaba. Prof. Azinge who is a Judge at the Commonwealth Arbitral Tribunal sitting in London, where he represents Nigeria and Africa. He is the founder and senior partner at Azinge & Azinge, a law firm in Abuja, the 5th Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies from 2009 and 2014. Obi Azinge’s blood is a blend of eminent son of Ahaba who comes from a lineage of nobles, with himself standing as a modern-day embodiment of the true Ahaba Identity. He is a true son of Asaba who is willing and capable of working with Asaba people to overcome challenges facing the community from lack of adequate infrastructure, youth unemployment, healthcare deficiency, to educational shortcomings.
A cursory look at the life of this esteemed ruler is proof that when there are kings who are not limited in wisdom, power, goodness and love for subjects, then monarchy would be the best of all systems of government. During his traditional oath of office at the Opechi as the 14th Asagba(King)of Asaba on 24th of August 2024,multitudes of Asaba citizens throng home from around the world to celebrate and felicitate with their beloved king. They do this not out of duty or enforced obligation, but out of deep love for their king and land.
But Azinge’s path to the throne was not one paved with velvet and inlaid with a thornless bed of flowers; no, it was rough, the journey was tough, and the experience could sometimes be bitter, as with that of men with great destinies. But these only served as stepping stones to his future, unanimously given, the throne.
It would be remembered that even though Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge had earlier been nominated along with nine others by the Asagba-in-Council
According to him, beyond the already established processes came another letter from the Okpala-Uku nominating ten candidates according to their grades.
They are: Prof. Epiphany Azinge (90%) Ogbueshi Anthony Konwea (75%) Chief Ikechukwu Ashiofu (74%) Prof Onwuka Emmanuel (72%) Ogbueshi Chiedu Onwuegbuzia (62%) Ogbueshi Chinyelugo Nwajei (60%) Ogbueshi C. R. Esealuka (59%) Ogbueshi Ikechukwu Maduemezia (50%) and Obi Ikechukwu Nwajei (Nil).
The Ochendo said the second letter suggested that all the candidates should be considered and directed members of the two frontline age grades in the selection process; Otu Ihaza and Ichiokwa, from each of the five Ebos to meet with the Obis and Olinzeles from their quarters at different locations within the palace to elect the candidate of their choice.
Announcing the result, Dr. Edozien said: “By the authority vested in me as the Ochendo Asagba and the authority vested in me by the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Edict, 1979,I hereby pronounce Prof. Epiphany Azinge as the 14th Asagba of Asaba designate.
Obi Prof. Azinge great destiny prevailed and the kingmakers unanimously selected him in conformity with the custom and tradition of the Asaba community, the provisions of the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Edict of 1979.
But in the midst of all these, he had many documented and undocumented trials and travails. Looking back,
Obi Azinge’s extraordinary destiny serves history in preservation. His is a life to be wished for, a legacy that must be preserved, and a story that must continue to be told for generations to come.
Not many kings want their life story in the public domain, instead, as second-in-command to the gods, they prefer that air of mystery to ensure that their rule remains absolute and their personal affairs secret. But Obi Prof. Azinge is a different kind of king – an erudite. He authored his biography, laying his cards bare and ensuring that many can learn the lessons of history through his life’s story.
As he ascend the throne as the 14th Asagba of Asaba , it is only fitting that one should say ‘Nna Agu! Long may the crown sit on the head, long may the shoes fit the wearer, and long may he reign.” But in prayer, many would secretly say to the creator “May I be as great as the king, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, the Asagba of Asaba Land.

HRM Obi(Prof.)Epiphany Azinge (SAN,OON) Asagba of Asaba
Today marks the dawn of a new era in Asaba land as HRM Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN,OON took the traditional oath of office at the Opechi as the 14th Asagba(King)of Asaba. According to Asaba tradition he will henceforth be addressed and referred to by his new dynastic name Nna Agu!Nna Agu!!Nna Agu!!!,It is worthy to note that he seizes to be greeted “Obi igwe” henceforth.
The final traditional oath taking was witnessed by Ndi Obi, Olinzeles, Ogbueshi’s, Okwulagwe,Umuada’s and the entire Asaba Community to signify a new era of traditional king in Asaba.
With the peaceful emergence of HRM Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN,OON all the five ‘ebos’ (villages) voted overwhelmingly for him, it showed how acceptable he is to the entire Asaba Kingdom. The traditional crowning of HRM Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge as the 14th Asagba of Asaba can only consolidate on its position as first among equals in the comity of traditional rulers in Nigeria.
It was a joyful mood in Asaba today as a new king has finally emerged since the seat became vacant after the demise of the 13th Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi Prof Chike Edozie, who joined his forefathers at the age of 99years on February 7, 2024.
The Indigenous People of Asaba completely shutdown the popular Ogbeogonogo market as honour and respect for the new king. it was a celebration galore for all sons and daughters of Asaba,as former Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Obi(Prof) Epiphany Azinge, SAN, ascend the throne as the 14th Asagba of Asaba.
The people of Umudaike quarter, the ancestral home of the newly Asagba-designated in Asaba have cried out for government’s intervention on their road which had been abandoned for years.
The Umudaike Community was worried over the deplorable state of the road and had written several letters to the state and local government about the condition of the road but no response has come from the government, adding that the poor state of the road has hampered economic activities of people.
Speaking yesterday, Comrade Okafor Anthony confided to Newsbreeze Magazine that the Umudaike Village road project started under the administration of former governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and for some years now the road is in a deplorable condition and abandoned.
Newly Asagba-designated Umudike Street in Asaba
We have made several attempts to draw government attention to the deplorable condition of the road but to no avail. With the emergence of Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge,SAN,OON as the 14th Asagba (King) of Asaba designated, let hope that the state government will give urgent attention to the long abandoned Umudaike road project because the road has become a problem to the people of Umudaike and Asaba Community in general.
“We are begging the government to listen to our cry and ensure that the contractors return to site immediately. Whatever is delaying the project should be made available on time before the official coronation of our new Asagba-Designated,” he said.
MVI_0001Another youth, who identified himself as Amechi said that the contractor only poured sand on the road without making efforts to provide a drainage system. If they will do this road at all, they need to do the drainage first, water gushing out whenever there’s rainfall causes serious hazard to the people.
“When we challenged the contractors, they complained the ministry did not pay them for drainage. The road has become a ‘headache’ to the Umudaike community who would have preferred it been left the way it was before construction.
We are appealing to Governor Sheriff to re-award the road project to ameliorate the suffering of our people now that the newly Asagba-Designated Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge,SAN,OON is from Umudaike Village.
The Nigerian Thoracic Society says that, as of 2019, 15 million Nigerians were asthmatic while a nationwide study put the number at 13 million – one of the highest rates in Africa. With less than accurate data in Nigeria, because those in rural areas have limited access to quality healthcare or medical tracking, the number could be even higher and more than 10 million Nigerians have asthma and about three-quarters of them risked dying due to poor asthma control.
The high rate of Asthmatic attack in Nigeria as revealed by the reports of the world renowned agencies became a source of worry for Igbuzo born Philanthropist, Pastor Idowu Okeze, the founder of CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION .
“I sat down and asked myself what can be done to reduce the high rate of Asthmatic attack and to help these patients who don’t have money to carter for their healthcare, that is why we decided to build this free specialist hospital(CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION),” he said.
As it stands, hope of a better healthcare seems to have come the way of the poor and less privileged in Nigeria, especially those in Ibusa, and its environs with the construction and inauguration of a Free Specialist Asthmatics Hospital by the Pastor Idowu Okeze.
Pastor Okeze fulfiled his dream by building a world class Asthmatic Hospital,CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION in Ibusa,Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta state to improve the health care sector of the country. After many decades of medical tourism and visits to the overseas by many Deltans and Nigerians in general that amounts into millions of naira on a yearly basis, a decline might be expected to set in as the CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION has been unveiled in Ibusa,Delta State.
The (CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION) Free Specialist Hospital inaugurated on August 17TH,2024 has automatically joined the league of private hospitals in the country to help to address the high rate of asthmatics attack in Nigeria, but with direct focus on the less privileged and down trodden in Ibusa at present.
According to founder of CIDO ASTHMA FOUNDATION,Pastor Idowu Okeze“ a philanthropist, who loves giving back to the society,to help his Community, said the world class Asthmatic Hospital is 100% free of charge for all Nigerians, irrespective of where you come from, The multi-million Naira hospital is set to be an investment that will bring more advancement in medical sciences in automated Asthmatic procedures and critical care management in Nigeria.
Okeze also noted that in grand scheme of things, the hospital is expected to become a teaching hospital that will be a grooming ground for talented medical practitioners in Nigeria and create employment opportunities for youth in Ibusa and its environs.
According to reports, the new facility is equipped with modern oxygen beds, high-definition CT scan, automated ventilators, Digital Cath Lab, state of the art theaters and other world class equipment that are used in major surgeries and Asthmatic treatments.
Pastor Okeze has also called for support from government, individuals and international organisations to replicates the free hospital in every nook and cranny of the country to guarantee easy and free access to health for the less privileged people.
The stool of the Asabga of Asaba became vacant following the demise of the late His Royal Majesty, Asagba Professor Joseph Chike Edozien,CFR,JP the longest-reigning king in the history of the town.
