The recent criticism of the Labour Party representative for the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Hon. Ngozi Okolie has sparked widespread attention.Nwaoboshi : Our Anioma Political Warrior
By: Ike Philip Abiagom
As it stands today in Anioma Nation, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is the official mascot of Anioma identity, history, traditional norms and values. He is fearless, courageous, pragmatic, articulate and very outspoken advocacy in the legitimate quest for constitutional clarity over contentious issues, which he has displayed with competent authority, makes his leadership model iconic and he has been their voice and will continue to stands for Anioma people when they are seemingly oppressed.
Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the Dynamic Leader, the Oracle turned Miracle of Delta Politics, the Ide of Okpanam Land, Oshimili Lieonye Olie Ogwuaa of Akwukwu Igbo Kingdom and the Ochiaya of Anioma Nation, when he ascended as the member representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Senate Arm of the National Assembly, as a first timer he became the Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, because he is the Anioma’s Democratic ship and he used the senate as vehicle to drive social and economic change in Delta North (Anioma) undermining the vehement hostility against him as a member of the opposition party at federal level.
However, Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi did not renege on his primary duty as a Senator and continued to discharge his duties with a sense of purpose and efficiency. Many leaders have not shown a greater sense of emotional intelligence, empathy and responsiveness to the needs of Deltans like (Senator Nwaoboshi)our Anioma Political Warrior, A Go-Getter and a result Oriented Senator.
Besides these legislative efforts and accomplishments, it is on record that he has, in an unprecedented manner attracted unequaled massive projects to the Delta North Senatorial District. Senator Nwaoboshi flaunts a first-time record in roads construction, rural electrification, both in the distribution of transformers, renovations of schools , supply of school, text books, chairs and tables and solar energy street lights, visible in all the nooks and crannies of the Anioma nation and this is indisputable. The list is endless and no space in one write-up can allow the listing, else it may become boring.
He fought and included Ndokwa Nation into Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) master plan and also included Ndokwa Youths into Nigeria Presidential Amnesty Programmes which alot of young people in Ndokwa Nation even in the whole of Delta North Senatorial District have benefited both in Education, Health, Agriculture sectors and Oil Companies Treaties till tomorrow. He also Sponsored the Bill for Act to repeal NDDC act, same Bill has been Passed by the National Assembly and Assented to or rather signed into Law by the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Critics in their attempt to lower the influence of the Nwaoboshi Factor have deposed insensitively that these achievements came only because of his privileged position as the chairman of the Senate committee for Niger Delta Affairs. They point to the huge resources of the NDDC as an added impetus for his performance. Absurdly, this position denies the Nwaoboshi Factor to these events. The questions to ask and congruously pertinent is, how is it that the ruling party ceded such a feasible and viable office to Nwaoboshi coming from an opposition party, if not for his delirious personae? That Nwaoboshi knows his onions is not at all in doubt because from the start of his political career, he has shown remarkably that he towers in the realm of the spiritual.
Anioma people have every reason to be proud of Nwaoboshi – A true son of Anioma, an illustrious son whose political influence has brought multiplying gains to us, evidenced by the several projects in infrastructure either attracted or personally provided by the Senator. In human capital development, the Senator has, and is still empowering both youths and women in various trades and businesses to make them self-reliant. Many more are also now on his payroll, sole effort of the Senator to alleviate the sufferings of his people.
All the nooks and crannies of Delta North are witness to the Nwaoboshi factor in the distribution of social infrastructure that once eluded the region as stakeholders in the NDDC
Deltans-Anioma Nation now knows better that Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is the best Senator ever to represent Delta North at the upper chambers. His kindness and willingness to reach out to Aniomas people is one reputation that will continue to precede him. Nwaoboshi has performed beyond doubt and above all past and present Senators who have represented Delta North in the Senate and this is unquestionable and deepening success shall have no end because Senator Nwaoboshi is willing to do more.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has reaffirmed to his commitment to the existing zoning arrangement in Delta North Senatorial District, declaring that it is the turn of the Ndokwa Nation to produce the next senator in 2027 and he has been their voice and will continue to stands for Anioma people when they are seemingly oppressed. ‘ONYE KALI ONYE AKAGA’.
The Antidote for Agricultural food security in Nigeria
Government acquisition of private and rural farmland for agricultural production is a strategic decision that has the potential to solve the challenges of right-to-food, inflation rate, and crop production in Nigeria. It has been viewed as one of the solutions to persistent food problems facing the country, compounded by factors such as population, economic, and climate change-induced growth in production. Besides the potential of increasing the level of farm production, this approach may as well help to keep the food price stable as well as enhance the rural economy.Much Ado About Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency Judgment?
The recent barrage of unwholesome articles against the member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Rt Hon. Ngozi Okolie has raised concerns about the fairness and motives behind assessing his performance, particularly less than two years into his tenure.I will defeat Ned Nwoko in any free and fair Election – Sen. Nwaoboshi
With reference to the recent prattling paper weight story written by SSA on Media to Sen. Ned Nwoko captioned “Senator Peter Nwaoboshi Chickens out on 2027 Delta North Senatorial election”, it is obvious that he did not read and comprehend the full details of Senator Nwoboshi’s interview. Senator Nwaoboshi is widely known as Mr. Equity and an encyclopedia of Delta State politics.
Senator Nwaoboshi is a man who politics runs in his blood. In his recent interview he made mention of Aniocha- Oshimili doing their twelve years at the senate come 2027 just like Senator Osakwe from Ndokwa nation did twelve years in the senate and Senator Okowa from Ika nation did four years in senate and eight years as governor . I want to state categorically that this is not the first time Senator Nwaoboshi is fighting for equity in Delta State.
It is on record that when Nwaoboshi was a commissioner under Governor James Ibori, he was the only person who has the guts to oppose him when he wanted another man from central to succeed him and he sacrifice his position(Commissioner) because he always stand for the truth, fairness and equity.
Senator Nwaoboshi also did same when Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was having a political romance with Delta South to succeed him. It was only Nwaoboshi that raised an alarm and told the whole world that it was the turn of Delta Central to produce the next governor and today governor sheriff is a beneficiary of equity.
In your write up you talked of Senator Osakwe from Ndokwa nation spending twelve years and Nwaoboshi eight years in which case Senator Ned Nwoko has not started his first term, this shows you lack comprehension of the interview because the number of years spent by Sen. Nwaoboshi and Sen. Ned Nwoko from the same federal Constituency equals twelve years come 2027.
Moreover, going by Senator Nwaoboshi’s interview, he said that if the political elders of Delta North want to jettison the zoning system, He is prepared to contest the election against Ned Nwoko or any other person, knowing that he is financially, Politically and Educationally superior to him and also has more acceptance as true Anioma Son. Besides in 2019, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi defeated Ned Nwoko in PDP senatorial primaries and defeated him too at the Supreme court when he challenged his victory, Ned Nwoko has never defeated Senator Nwaoboshi in any election genuinely .
I want Comrade Kay Enuenwosu to understand that the wide spread acceptance and the patronage Senator Nwaoboshi is enjoying today is because of long political profile and his good work as a senator. He has been a voice of the voiceless in Delta State and Nigeria. The writer must learn that the only sure way to success, is through hard work that is people Centric ,unless you are not in politics.
In a nutshell you should learn to be humble and respect the voice of our Political authority and the father of Equity in Delta State. ‘ONYE KALI ONYE AKAGA’. Political Oracle…
CHIDI EMELUE ASCENDS TO ALOR TITLE IN ILLAH, OSHIMILI-NORTH
By: Ike Philip Abiagom
The Ogbuenyi title in (Ala) Illah Community involves a traditional practice in which a particular male has metaphorically killed a cow. It has been emphasized that cow in the traditional sense symbolizes the mother earth. The Ogbuenyi process is complex yet, necessary in our society where it is practiced. However, it is called “Alor” in communities like Asaba, Ibusa, Akwukwu-Igbo and others.

The Alor come with integrity, honour and authority for some traditional reasons. Alor is an expensive title with rigorous ceremonies that require efforts and money to embark on especially in individual capacity. To be an Ogbuenyi in Illah, one must be a male and must have lost his father to death. It is the loss of the father that symbolizes the manhood status in him. Although age is not a factor here, it is an abomination for anyone to share Alor status with his living father. What is derivable from it is that the rites of Alor does not recognize anyone as a man in the presence of his father since it is the demise of the father that thrust one with fatherhood and accompanying fatherly responsibilities.

Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue, the Dublin based business Man is being conferred with the Alor Title (Ogbuenyi)in Ayaji Quarters, Illah in Oshimili North Local Government of Delta State. In Illah Alor title (Ogbuenyi) has some well cherished expectation, not fighting in the streets, must not be found publicly drunk or misbehave, shall not steal or be found guilty of any misconduct, involve in criminal activity as doing any of the foregoing would tantamount to demeaning the traditional office and the honour that characterizes it as well as watering down the esteem of other traditional title holders in Illah community.

Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue,is eminently qualified considering the fact that he lost his father some years ago. Since then has never allowed the situation to depress him, rather he focused on the realisation of his life ambition. Infact, the condition that he must be fatherless before he can be qualified for the title made him to once more regret his father’s death. As disclosed by him, he would have preferred forgoing the title, and seeing his father witness his achievements.

On Saturday 11th January, 2024, history was made in the Ayaji Quarters, Illah, when Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue join the elitist elders’ club which is the Ogbuenyi Ala. However, His Quarter discovered that something was missing in his life which he must achieve in order to further move higher. Considering this, the community found Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue worthy of Alor (Ogbuenyi) title, and for him to accept it, without postponement, a town crier was assigned to announce the intention of the members of his traditional council, and the date of the ceremony.

According to one of the High Chief from Ayaji quarters, with Emelue’s excellent performance, developmental strides, very mature attitude and human dispositions, the people could no longer wait for him to grow up higher traditionally coupled with his status as an asset to the people of Ayaji Quarters, and his kinsmen in particular.
Going down memory lane, we are reminded why the traditional history of Illah says, that until and unless one becomes an Ogbuenyi Ala, he remains strongly and very solidly a member of the community’s workforce, in order words, the person shall actively participate in all community’s menial jobs and youth’s group activities such a carrying of corpses/caskets and digging of graves during burial ceremonies as well as other community errands, among others. ‘But today Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue escaped all these as he has really bought the exalted status of an elder in the community with his money as he can conveniently and comfortably sit in a meeting with elders in all traditional, customary and social occasions, take all vital decisions affecting the lives, welfare and development of his people as an accomplished community leader’’.
Before he clinched the title, Emelue diligently went through the traditional rigors which started with the customary preliminary hurdle, which is known as Igbu Egwu-Ogwa’’, which is the first part of the initiation process and determines his suitability, followed by other traditional matters including the official fixing of dates as well as provision of the statutory requirements needed to actualize the ambition of the aspirants. He was formerly received by the Council of Chiefs at the palace of the Royal Majesty accompanied by his families, friends and well wishers. Following the confirmation of the alor title at the Royal Majesty Palace, He was celebrated on his way home with traditional music and drums.
As expected, he went through days of traditional ceremony, which involves provision of hundreds of sizeable tubers of yams, cows, lavish cooking of foods and quantum supply of assorted drinks, Apart from payment of high impressively specified sums of money that makes the title an exclusive privilege for few persons who are capable as well as other prerequisites needed to make one an elder in the midst of others in the society.
Ogbuenyi Chidi Emelue, thanked God for making it possible for him to witness the event, saying that it was a thing of joy to belong to a group where God’s grace made it possible for one to be. He thanked His Royal Majesty, the Diokpa, leadership and people of Ayaji Quarters, his family members, friend for their support which made the title taking a success.
He appreciated his wife, children and members of his family and assured that the title would spur him to be of greater service to his village and the Illah community.

RE : WHY SOW SEED OF DISCORD?

Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has consistently proven himself to be an elder statesman and political champion we can trust to defend the best values, interests and overall good of all our people. He hate oppression and always oppose it no matter who fuels it. With this virtue, He has remained a stabilizing force in the complex political dynamics of our dear Delta State. He is dependable, fearless, and vastly knowledgeable and experienced in the art of politics, public governance. People will always know where he stand and He always stand on the solid ground of justice, equity and fairness.
“It baffles me that someone who is a juvenile in the politics of Anioma can mis-quote and under value our Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s recent interview on why the next Anioma Senator must come from Ndokwa Nation (power shift) as unwarranted, baseless, and unnecessary, and also said Nwaoboshi was sowing seeds of Discord in Anioma? What a childish talk from a Political juvenile challenging a Political master the Delta State PDP family unanimously referred to as the political ‘Oracle turned Miracle’ on account of his deft technocratic ingenuity defending and strengthening the PDP structure pre 2015 election.
I don’t know who your pay master maybe, but the fact remains that Senator Nwaoboshi is authority in the politics of Delta State and Nigeria in general and a juvenile in politics of Anioma who does not know much about zoning and power shift in the state ought to keep quite and learn from the grand political master like Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, by our tradition and, indeed universally, ” a child does not show his/her parents their former abode” . Senator Nwaoboshi is the father of equity in Delta State Politics.
Who can rival the vital role played by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi historically in Anioma today, he is the most experienced politician alive today. The biggest battle ever fought for politically by Aniomas was the 2015 Anioma Agenda vociferous battle to produce the governor of Delta state, It was in Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s Asaba house that the mock primaries was conducted for Anioma candidates under the chairmanship of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi by dominant majority of Anioma political PDP leaders and delegates. This strategic galvanizing, mobilizing, and timely support to Sen Ifeanyi Okowa that gave him victory as Anioma candidate and thereafter becomes Delta state governor from the last minute strategy.
Little fries, unable to delve history, who suddenly cunningly emerged, benefiting from the landmark institutional efforts of Sen Peter Nwaoboshi can say anything; but history will remember us that the benefits (Power Shift) they are enjoying today is the brain child of Sen Peter Nwaoboshi and others, including the 2015 Anioma Agenda victory of Dr Sen Ifeanyi Okowa.
Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi’s contribution to the Political institutional raft foundation of Delta state governance since 1999 is huge inspite of perceived challenges and limitations. He’s contributions to the progress and economic history of Anioma anchored on political leadership activism is huge , unequalled ,outstanding and unbeatable.
As a member of the opposition party in Delta State, He is indeed, arguably one of the greatest political party institutional builders of our modern age akin. Sen. Nwaoboshi has served real Politicians and God in his infinite mercy, from child of a poor man, has elevated him to the position of a senator which is the highest legislative organ in the country, he passed through legislative tutelage and he did not just jump into politics. He said APC has a constitution, you cannot jump outside the constitution unless you want to amend it. You cannot derogate power to yourself because you have the power to take it. According him, Delta State APC executives cannot be dissolved because they were elected constitutionally for four years and that anybody who think the excos will be dissolve soon before the expiration of their statutory four years is living in fools paradise.
