By: Ike Philip Abiagom & Benson NwokoHonorable Nkeaka made this known yesterday in Ibusa at another cash empowerment program held at his Ward 8 constituency, where new set of 120 lucky beneficiaries were selected for the Two Million naira (N2,000.000.00)empowerment scheme for the month of April 2024.
Honorable Nkeaka who disclosed that the cash empowerment, this pet project has been on since for the past six years, noted that it was initiated to assist women, petty traders, and start-ups within his jurisdiction. He explained that, for the month of Apriil,120 beneficiaries were selected, with each person presented with cash ranging between N10,000 and N50,000.
While he emphasized his commitment to making every member of his constituency have a taste of the dividend of democracy, he opined that he will continue to do so, much more lofty initiatives will be facilitated for the betterment of his people.
Hon. Austin Nnabuife, the Chairman of APC Oshimili North Local Government Area lauded Honorable Leo Nkeaka for empowering his people and following up with the federal government on the matter in order to put a smile on the faces of his people.
In an interview with Journalists shortly after the event, Hon Henry Mordi, praised Hon. Leo Nkeaka for his magnanimity, saying the he had endeared himself to the people, He urged him not to relent.
Some of the beneficiaries including Ifeanyi Ajudua Brekete, Patience Chiamuya, Mrs. Nkechi Etokwu, Mr Uche Ngalia, Mrs Maifo Nkadi, Nwakaji Njoagwani,Kanayo Uzu, Emmanuel Ofili, Chukwudi Anansa, Mrs Onyeisi Okolu, Mrs Ngozi Chigbue Okolie, India Abuah expressed special thanks to their benefactor for thinking of such moves and said that at least 60 per cent of the population of the constituency are now empowered to be self-reliance. They also appreciated him for what he is doing in Ibusa Ward 8 as a whole in empowerment, saying that there is a need for other politicians to develop their area since the government alone cannot do everything. The beneficiaries of the empowerment program appreciated Honorable Leo Nkeaka for being a selfless man who goes the extra length in making his people happy at all times, hence pledged their total support for his boss Most Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi.
Nkeaka, while announcing the modalities for the distribution of the cash, on Tuesday, said the essence was not for a political campaign, but a way of giving back to society, adding that people from outside the district would also benefit. The empowerment was was attended by some APC chieftains like Hon. Henry Mordi, Oshimili North APC Youth Leader, Hon. Peter Okocha aka BOBO NKITI and others.
