GLORIA OKONKWO ONYEKACHI FOUNDATION COMMENDS DELTANS FOR OBEYING GOVT’S STAY AT HOME ORDER OVER COVID – 19

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Founder and President of Gloria Okonkwo Onyekachi Foundation worldwide,(www.goofoundation.org) Mrs Gloria Okonkwo Onyekachi, has commended Deltans for obeying government’s stay at home order intended to prevent the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 to the state.

Mrs Onyekachi gave the commendation on Saturday  through phone conversation from her base in Canada with the Publisher of Grassroots Publishers Online, she noted that the Okowa administration had done a lot to prevent the virus from entering the state through efficient and effective sensitization programmes, adding that the Governor had also put in place facilities to manage any emergency that might arise from the pandemic.She explained that the COVID – 19 challenge was not one to be left for the government alone, saying that it was a matter for everyone in view of its global effect on life and the economy. Her Non- Governmental Organisation ( NGO ) Gloria Okonkwo Onyekachi Foundation (GOOF)  worldwide had already distributed soap, hand sanitizers, hand gloves, face masks, and fliers to those sensitized last week and urged them to put the items to good use for their own good.

The GOOF initiator urged the people of Delta State and the communities her NGO(Gloria Okonkwo Onyekachi Foundation) visited to abide by the preventive measures announced by government for their safety, including regular hand washing under running water, use of hand sanitizer,social distancing, as well as looking out for and promptly reporting symptoms of fever, cough and respiratory difficulties.

while reacting to the positive reports sent in by her coordinators on COVID-19 Project Monitoring from their various communities  and She urged them to put the items to good use for their own good , describing the lockdown as a measure to save lives in the various communities and  state. While saying that the Okowa administration placed enormous value on the health of Deltans, Onyekachi advised the people to play safe always so as to be COVID-19 free.
Onyekachi enjoined the sick to avoid sharing dishes, glasses, beddings and other household items with other people in order to curb the spread of the disease. She urged returnees to Nigeria with symptoms of fever, cough and breathing difficulties to self isolate within 14 days of arrival, for proper observation.

Onyekachi commended her Co-ordinators on Covid-19 Project Monitoring for sending in their reports and urged them to monitor their various communities and send in more situation reports to her on the government stay at home directive.
