Frontline politician, Hon. Patrick Ashikodi, has pledged his support for Peter Obi following the official closure of the sale of Presidential Expression of Interest forms by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The party announced that while the sale of forms for the presidential position has ended, the process remains open for aspirants seeking Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly tickets across the country.
Reacting to the development, Hon. Ashikodi said he accepted the party’s decision in good faith, stressing that his commitment to the ideals of democracy, unity, and party progress remains unwavering.
The frontline aspirant also called on his supporters and political associates to remain calm, peaceful, and loyal to the party leadership, noting that collective interest must always supersede personal ambition.He further declared his support for Peter Obi, describing the former presidential candidate as a leader whose vision and commitment to national development continue to inspire many Nigerians.
Meanwhile, political consultations are said to be ongoing as stakeholders and supporters intensify calls for Hon. Ashikodi to contest for the Delta North Senatorial ticket under the platform of the NDC.
Sources close to the politician revealed that discussions with party leaders and supporters are continuing across Delta North Senatorial District, with many urging him to remain active in the political process ahead of future elections.
Hon. Ashikodi is expected to officially communicate his next political move to supporters and the general public in the coming days.
