The International Peace Commission (IPC) has appointed Amb. Chief Nwaukor Onochie Jude into its prestigious Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Leadership Network, a move aimed at strengthening international partnerships and accelerating efforts toward the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Commission, which noted that the Global SDG Leadership Network continues to grow through the inclusion of distinguished leaders committed to advancing sustainable development, peacebuilding, human rights, and community-driven initiatives across the world.
According to the IPC, the leadership network comprises SDG Ambassadors, Commissioners, Team Leaders, and Representatives drawn from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, all working collaboratively to promote partnerships and drive meaningful progress toward the realization of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The Commission stated that the appointment of Amb. Chief Nwaukor Onochie Jude reflects its confidence in his leadership capacity, commitment to community development, and ability to contribute significantly to sustainable development initiatives at local, national, and international levels.
In the same vein, the IPC announced the appointment of Dr. Carmen Burks as SDG Commissioner for the United States of America, with responsibility for International Partnerships, Human Rights, and Sustainable Development Education, describing the development as a significant step in the expansion of its global leadership framework.
The Commission explained that members of the Global SDG Leadership Network are expected to champion collaboration, empower communities, and support innovative initiatives that promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for people around the world.
Reaffirming its commitment to global development, the IPC stated that the network will continue to welcome passionate and visionary leaders dedicated to creating measurable impact in support of the SDGs.
The organisation emphasized that the appointments align with its vision of building stronger international partnerships and mobilising influential leaders across diverse sectors to advance peace, human rights, sustainable development, and inclusive growth.
The IPC further noted that expanding the leadership network forms part of its broader strategy to encourage cross-border cooperation, strengthen community participation, and deliver lasting social, economic, and environmental benefits globally.
