The Light Diabetes Organisation, in its commitment to improving community health, marked this year’s World Diabetes Day with a large-scale free medical outreach for the people of Igbuzo and surrounding communities. The programme, which attracted hundreds of residents, provided vital health services including diabetes screening, blood pressure checks, counselling, and education on preventive care.

The Co-founder of the organisation, Princess (Mrs.) Tonia Akindele, who is based in the United Kingdom, expressed deep joy over the success of the outreach. She described the event as a dream fulfilled, noting that she and her husband who is a Co-Founder, Prince James Oludare Akindele, are driven by a passion to touch lives and bring hope to communities through accessible healthcare.

Princess Akindele emphasized that the rising rate of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases in society makes awareness and early detection more important than ever. She added that the organisation remains committed to supporting vulnerable groups and educating the public on healthy living.
