High Chief Okonkwo, fondly known as “Charlie Coupe,” and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lifeguard Limited, is being installed in accordance with age-long customs by the Obuzor of Igbuzo, His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) L. C. Nwaoboshi. The installation ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Palace of the Obuzor of Igbuzo, where traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, and distinguished guests are expected to witness the solemn rites.
The Odogwu title is one of the highest traditional honours in Igbuzo Kingdom and is reserved for individuals of proven courage, integrity, selfless service, and commitment to the development of the community. Following the palace ceremony, a grand reception will hold at the Ibusa Girls Grammar School, Umueze Farm Road, Umueze, Igbuzo, featuring colourful cultural displays, music, and festivities that highlight the rich traditions of the Igbuzo people.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Odogwu Conferment Committee, Onowu (Sir) Osy Nwadei, invited all Igbuzo sons and daughters, friends of the kingdom, and well-wishers to attend the ceremony and be part of what he described as “a historic and culturally significant occasion.”
He noted that the installation of the Odogwu goes beyond celebration, serving as a reaffirmation of the enduring values of unity, bravery, leadership, and service that define the Igbuzo Kingdom.
