In recognition of his exceptional humanitarian service and longstanding support for community development, the Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN), Delta State Council, has formally conferred the prestigious title of Distinguished Patron on Pastor Idowu Daniel Okeze.

The investiture ceremony, which held at his residence in Igbuzo, Oshimili North Local Government Area, was led by the State Chairman of ACNPN, Comrade Ike Philip Abiagom. The official decoration was performed by Ologun D.O.D. Okirika on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Association.

Speaking during the ceremony, Comrade Abiagom noted that Pastor Okeze was unanimously selected as Patron due to his enviable track record of touching lives, especially among the less privileged, widows, and the elderly. He described him as “a man whose humility, generosity, and commitment to humanity speak louder than words.”

According to him, the Association found Pastor Okeze worthy because he consistently demonstrates values that align with community journalism — compassion, integrity, and service to society.

In his acceptance remarks, Pastor Okeze expressed gratitude to the Association for the honour bestowed on him, describing it as a call to greater service. He pledged to stand firmly behind the media group, assuring them of a relationship “built on mutual respect, guidance, and support — just like that of a father and son.”

He also urged community newspaper publishers to remain steadfast in their responsibility as the voice of the masses, stressing the importance of objective reporting and maintaining the bridge between the people and government.

The ceremony ended with warm applause and commendations for Pastor Okeze, whose new role is expected to further strengthen the bond between ACNPN and the Communities it serves.
