[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a bid to help cushion the effect of the proactive and preventive stay-at-home order by His Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Okowa aimed at curbing the spread of Corona Virus pandemic in Delta State, the CPU Foundation yesterday
continued the distribution of food items such as bags of rice, 2 cows, cartons of indomie, and cash support to residents in Aboh, Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State.
The gesture which is aimed at the most vulnerable within the Aboh community, according to the Chairman of the CPU Foundation, a Civil Engineer, who refers to himself as a “Bricklayer” Engr. Philip Chukwumah Ugbomah, is to cushion the economic effects of the stay-at-home directive.This second batch was Sponsored by Engr Kingsley Ogwu, CEO, Exulted Eagles Solar energy and Inverter,a true son of Aboh Kingdom. He explained that the gesture was to further encourage people to stay at home to curtail the spread of the disease, and also for the Easter celebration. He appealed to the of the community,to identify the most vulnerable in the kingdom and ensure the food items got to them.
Engr. Philip Chukwumah Ugbomah called on the people to strictly adhere to government’s directives on restriction of movement as the only known cure of the dreaded Corona virus for now was to stay safe.
Ugbomah commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his swift response to unfolding events on Covid 19, stressing that the proactiveness of the State Central Committee on Managing and Containing the Coronavirus pandemic led by the Governor had helped to check the spread of the virus in the state.
He appreciated the love of God for Deltans, particularly the people of Aboh Kingdom and prayed that the Covid 19 pandemic currently ravaging the world be brought to an end.
