[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he NEC of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has announced that the Annual Igbo Day ceremony for 2018 earlier scheduled to hold on 29th September, 2018 will now hold at the same venue on October 29, 2018. This rescheduling was necessitated by the socio-political events in the country which equally affects Igbo stakeholders.
The Party Congresses and political primaries in Nigeria have commenced and will be even more daunting on the 29th of September. Our host, key Igbo leaders and stakeholders and the Igbo populace would be involved in the process in all the parties.
This process is equally important to Ndigbo , especially in view of our clamours and insistence on political equity in Nigeria . This slight rescheduling does not imply that Igbo Day will now hold every October. No. September 29th every year remains the date of Igbo Day that should be observed all over the world.
All activities scheduled for the Igbo Day will still hold on 29th October, 2018. By 12 noon on the said date, Ndigbo all over the world would observe a one minute silence for the repose of the souls of all Igbos that paid the supreme sacrifice in different conflicts and crisis in Nigeria and the world.

On 28th October, 2018 there will be inter-denominational church service in all churches in Igbo land and where ever Ndigbo reside. All Igbos should use the period on reflect on their past, present and future.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Barr Nnia Nwodo wishes Ndigbo a successful Igbo Day celebration. Details of the programme of events for that day would soon be released. It is expected that Ndigbo all over the world would observe the event while our fraternal friends across Nigeria and the globe are equally invited.
