Grassroots Publishers congratulate Comrade Song on his new appointment

Grassroots Publishers have congratulated  Mr. Adamu Song on his new appointment as General Secretary  of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG). Comrade Song, whose appointment is with immediate effects, takes over from Mr Joseph Ogbebor, the former General Secretary who recently retired from the union after 31 years of meritorious service.
Speaking in Lagos recently, the President of Grassroots Publishers, Chief D.O.D Okirika commended the efforts of the outgoing General Secretary,  Mr Joseph Ogbebor describing him as a man of integrity.

Adamu Song is a seasoned labour technocrat, negotiator and organiser with proven experience who until now was the former Deputy General Secretary (Operations and Administration). The new General-Secretary passed through the mills in NUPENG to rise to this present position, having served in various capacities and levels as Senior Assistant General Secretary in-charge of Kaduna Zone before he was moved to Lagos five years ago.

“Considering the wealth of experience Comrade Song has garnered, I want to enjoin him to ensure he works towards the development of NUPENG and Nigeria at large”  Okirika said.

Grassroots Publishers also commend other appointees:  Comrade Afolabi Olawale who was appointed Deputy General Secretary (Operations). He was until now, Senior Assistant General Secretary/Head of Warri zone; Comrades Anthony Chukwu, Otite Precious Onohwohwo, Adamson Momoh, Christopher Akpede were promoted to the position of principal Assistant General Secretaries while encouraging them to work assiduously towards the betterment of NUPENG.
