In Nigeria’s evolving political and administrative landscape, few individuals embody dedication to public service, sports development, and communication excellence like Patrick Ogoegbunam Ukah.
From his humble beginnings to occupying key leadership positions in government, Chief Ukah’s story is one of discipline, commitment, and impactful service.
Born on April 10, 1964, in Jos, Chief Ukah hails from the respected family of Ogbueshi Albert Ukah of Umuomake Village, Obodogwugwu Quarters in Okpanam, and Mrs. Veronica Ukah (née Elueze) of Ogbe-Owelle in Ibusa. His upbringing was deeply rooted in discipline, strong moral values, and community spirit—virtues instilled in him by his parents, which would later shape his character and leadership style.
Family remains central to his life. Chief Ukah is married to Barrister Mrs. Uche Perpetual Ukah, whom he fondly describes as the love of his youth, a trusted adviser, and a dependable partner in life’s journey. Their enduring union reflects stability and mutual respect, values that have guided him both in his personal life and public service. Their marriage is also blessed with children.
Chief Ukah also holds a traditional title as the Akatakpo Enyi of Okpanam Kingdom, a recognition of his contributions to his community and his standing as a respected son of the land.
Over the years, Chief Ukah has carved out a distinguished career as a politician, sports administrator, entrepreneur, and communication expert. His versatility has seen him contribute meaningfully to governance, media relations, marketing, and sports administration in Nigeria.
One of the defining moments of his public service career came when he served as Secretary to the Delta State Government from 2021 to 2023. In that role, he played a strategic part in coordinating government policies and supporting the smooth functioning of the state administration.
Today, Chief Ukah serves as the Director General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency under the administration of Sheriff Oborevwori. In this capacity, he is widely regarded as a key figure driving development within the state capital territory and contributing to the governor’s development blueprint known as the MORE Agenda.
Beyond politics and governance, Chief Ukah has earned recognition as a renowned Nigerian athlete and sports administrator. His passion for sports development has influenced many initiatives aimed at nurturing talent and promoting youth participation in athletics across the country.
Those who have worked closely with him often describe him as a master strategist in communication and media relations. This reputation was once again demonstrated during the burial of the late distinguished senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, where Chief Ukah played a vital role in the media and public relations committee.
His leadership and expertise ensured effective coordination and dignified coverage of the historic event.
Reflecting on his life journey, Chief Ukah often notes that the experiences he has encountered have shaped his outlook and strengthened his resolve to serve humanity.
“Life has taught me lessons that will see me through the remaining years on earth,” he once remarked—an expression that captures the wisdom of a man whose career has been defined by resilience, loyalty, and service.
To many, Chief Patrick Ogoegbunam Ukah is more than a public official. He is a mentor, a leader, and a respected elder brother whose contributions continue to influence governance, sports, and community development in Delta State and beyond.
As his journey continues, admirers and colleagues alike remain confident that his experience and dedication will keep shaping policies and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Many also believe that Chief Ukah’s future in politics remains bright, expressing hope and prayers that God will guide him to even greater heights and the full realization of his destiny in service to society.
