The days are steadily counting down to the final home journey of Delta North’s political iroko, Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, whose sudden departure from this world came as a rude shock to family, friends, political associates and admirers across Nigeria.
Fondly called SPON, the distinguished senator left without notice, creating a vacuum that many believe can never truly be filled. From Igbuzo to Oshimili, from Delta State to the national political arena, the news of his passing reverberated like thunder, leaving behind grief, reflection and deep appreciation for a life of impact.
Renowned as an oracle in politics, Senator Nwaoboshi was widely respected for his fearlessness, eloquence and firm ideological stance. He was celebrated as a sound orator, a courageous voice and a politician who could neither be intimidated nor swayed by financial inducement. His unwavering principles and bold approach to leadership earned him admiration across party lines and cemented his status as one of the most influential political figures in Delta North.

The Media and Publicity Committee for the burial of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi headed by Hon. Patrick Ukah have announced that arrangements are in top gear to ensure a befitting farewell for the late statesman. The committee warmly invites sons and daughters of Delta North, political associates, well-wishers and Nigerians from all walks of life to join in honouring a man whose legacy remains indelible.
Though tears have been shed and hearts remain heavy, many find solace in the belief that his impactful life speaks louder than death.
“Nnam, we have cried and mourned,” a close associate remarked, “but God knows best. You left without notice, yet your footprints remain in the sands of time.
