Ibusa born Philanthropist, Elder Acho Godwin Nonyalim, the Group Chairman of Junic Group of Companies, a Peace Ambassador and founder of the Junic Foundation donated over 300 bags of rice and cash gifts to all Isieke women in Ibusa as part of efforts to help alleviate the hardship faced by several of them during the yuletide while also putting smiles on their faces. The event which took place in the High street,(Isieke) Ibusa witnessed a large turnout of widows, married women and other indigent people in Isieke Ibusa.

The Chairman of Junic Group of Companies and Founder of the NGO, Elder Acho Godwin Nonyalim noted that it is the desire of the foundation to see several of these women smile and become better at a time like this when the demise of their breadwinner is mostly felt. “We want you to be happy, and to become better, hence the reason why we have decided to share with you the little that we have on such a day like this. We pray that God will bless you. We also pray that you have joyous Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance,” she said.

In his response, the Director of the foundation, Asika Okwai, noted that the cash gifts and food items were given in the spirit of love. He noted that “It is all about reaching out and touching lives. That is the basis on which we have built this organization. When you make people happy, God has a way of making you happy too. It is something we have learnt, and we are doing it and will keep doing it.

“There is no political undertone. The aim is to reach out to people in need. We are not politicians, but regular citizens like other Nigerians.

“The government is doing its job as best as it can. However, we don’t have to leave everything to the government. It is a trying time for us as a country and as a people. However, it is not an excuse not to share love, especially this festive season. Christ was born to share love.”

One of the beneficiaries who gave her name as Mama Okobi, speaking on behalf of other recipients, said: “We thank the Foundation(Elder Acho Godwin Nonyalim) for and pray that God will continue to bless them. We implore that they also teach us how to ‘fish’ so that we can be self-reliant.”
