The attention of the Delta State Government has been drawn to the festering internal wrangling in some sections of Ibusa Community, Oshimili North Local Government Area, over the title of Uwolo of Ibusa between Chief Agiliga Umuna and Chief Amaechi Nwaenie . With recent release of Igbuzor traditional 2024 Calendar by His Royal Majesty , Obi Prof. Chelunor Nwoboshi, the Obuzor of Ibuzor where he disregarded the Delta State government directives by authorizing the publication of Chief Amaechi Nwaenie picture as the Uwolo of Ibusa in the said calendar.
Arising from the likely tendency to degenerate to the breakdown of law and order, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, has disclosed that the state government has directed all interested parties in the matter to desist from advancing further claims to the aforementioned title pending outcome of investigation into the matter. The state government warn that all claims to the Uwolo title should be suspended until further notice but from the recent development, the Obuzor of Igbuzor who ought to be the custodian of peace in the community is still parading Chief Amaechi Nwaenie as the Uwolo of Igbuzor in spite the hue and cry, of the Delta State government directives and order.
His Royal Majesty,Obi Prof. Chelunor Nwoboshi should be call to order by the State government and emphasis the need for peace in the lingering Uwolo tussle, that is tearing brothers apart in Igbuzor Kingdom.
His Royal Majesty,Obi Prof. Chelunor Nwoboshi should be cautioned concerning the present tussle of UWOLO TITLE in Ibusa because of the implication that it might caused confusion in the land, enmity, acrimony, rancour and division among our people, if state government fails to call him to order it can lead to broke down of law and order in Igbuzor Kingdom.
The Diokpa of Otu- Uwolo and the most Senior Diokpa of Igbuzor, Onowu Joseph Ijeh has warn that Otu-Uwolo will absolutely, definitely and resolutely resist any attempt by anyone outside the state government who enters their community and tries to cause problems, He advise all parties to adhere strictly to this government directives over the title of Uwolo of Ibusa until the state comes out with their official verdict on the matter.
These violent acts of His Royal Majesty,Obi Prof. Chelunor Nwoboshi, Obuzor of Igbuzor which the Otu-Uwolo unequivocally condemn, have instilled fear and unrest in the peaceful community.”
Otu Uwolo ethos as a community dictates that no individual’s ambition is above the collective well-being of and governance of our people. It’s crucial, therefore that His Royal Majesty , Obi Prof. Chelunor Nwoboshi should stop parading Chief Amaechi Nwaenie temporarily to allow for an unobstructed inquiry by the state government. The Ibusa community is against the decision of the Obuzor to take Chief Amaechi Nwaenie as the Uwolo when the state government has not come out with a Gazette or communiqué. The community is not happy and will not recognize him as the Uwolo of Igbuzor.
