The landmark judgement of a Federal High court in Lagos, today the 18th of June, 2021 to acquit Senator (Barr) Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, Spon, of ‘all frivolous charges’ of of money laundering filed against him by the EFCC is not just a welcomed development but in finality, an affirmation of his innocence. Father Be Praised!
Furthermore, and by extension, it is an avowal of a now futile, failed and fallaciously instigated *hate-drive on the Senator, mostly dished out, abysmally in the social media and other news outlets!*
No doubt, the toll on the able Senator and on his image were considerable. Also, the huge investment in the litigation, spanning about five (5) years can only be imagined.
The scars from the ‘legal-pounding’ may never heal, but what is important is that the Senator will soldier-on, like a true political warrior – the lionic Ambassador – Aguajiejemba par excellence, even more gallantly.
In this sequel (The Nwaoboshi Factor (II), I reiterate that Senator (Barr) Peter Nwaoboshi remains the desirable vessel for the political emancipation and sustainable upliftment of the people of Anioma and indeed Delta State.
History is unchanging because it will remain what it is. There are tangible evidences to buttress the claim.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi right from his days as a UPN Youth leader and Aide under Prof Ambrose Alli, the defuct Governor of old Bendel state; to his outstanding leadership sagacity as State chairman PDP, Delta State, SPON had manifested his incisive qualities with engaging leadership, so much that the Delta PDP leadership and family Christianed him: *’The Oracle turned Miracle!’*
It is on record that the present Delta State PDP Secretariat is a product of his administration. Again, nobody has come with any information to disprove the ledgendary, activist political role of the Senator in the Anioma Agenda, equity struggle that resulted in what we now have as Okowa Administration.
I had argued in my earlier write-up that if we accept that the superior quotient for true representation is that which is domiciled in people-oriented projects delivery, then Senator Nwaoboshi stands out. While it may not be necessary to recount the overabundance of existing projects attracted to Anioma by the Senator, it serves to say that the current Bill to establish a Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Aboh is a reassurance of his ability and passion for the development of Anioma in general.
It is for the reasons adduced above that I hail the discharge and acquittal of the most Distinguished Senator (Barr) Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi.
For them that have ‘orchestrated, funded and fanned the wicked embers’ of ‘destroy Nwaoboshi’, it will be advisable that they have a rethink and allow the will of God to prevail, now that their efforts have ended in futility!
The ‘wakeful, wasteful, wearried’ nights and days in the ‘trenches’ are over!
These have been wasted productive times. The Senator has legislative duties for which he was overwhelmingly re -elected for a second term in 2019 by Anioma people and it is my hope that the ‘proxies’ of the now shamed ‘unholy joustling’ (because that is what it is) would rest their case and allow Senator Peter Nwaoboshi his time to continue his ‘politics of development’ to his beloved Anioma people!
