SPON on the march again

By: Stanley Mbulu
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi
An achiever always break new grounds no matter the situation; just like the Golden fish that is always spotted even in the midst of many other big fishes in the water. This aptly refers to the one and only Senator Peter Onyeluchukwu Nwaoboshi, the political icon representing Delta North Senatorial District at the Senate.

And no sooner had he moved to the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he had developed to enviable height, his presence in the new home is beginning to attract followers of good materials.
Undoubtedly, SPON has demonstrated that he is a magnet that pulls good materials to himself. Just recently, the Niger Delta Students Union Government, N/D SUG presented an Award to the peaceful and peace loving SPON. The students led by its president, Comrade Nepga Goodness, recognised SPON as a key actor in the Niger Delta affairs, and his numerous contributions in advocacy for peace and infrastructural development for the new Niger Delta as well as his ceaseless support towards students and educational development in both his constituency and the entire country at large, presented an Award to the man popularly called and known as Oracle.
His peaceful nature was evidenced by the way he remained calm in the face of unwarranted INSULTS poured out by an errand boy, who is yet to understand the political terrains he has just ventured, acting his master’s scripts recently. This errand boy greatly missed, and the only vocabulary that came his mind was ‘scholarship’ he said SPON was given to be at the Senate. Pity, a young political jobber he is, and fighting to remain on his master’s good books, attempted to impress his master by condemning SPON’s recent move to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
It was hard for him to say that SPON’s crossing to the ruling party would take the shine away from his boss.
SPON, widely known philanthropist, hardworking individual, an achiever, the Oracle and a detribalised politician, has however become the favourite of all in his new APC, as the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Omo-Agege has found him a real partner in progress in the quest to reposition Delta State in the polity of the nation.
Unarguably, SPON, an achiever in all spheres, is already working hard building political structures in his new found home (APC), to ensure he surpassed the legacies he built and left for his former party.
SPON, who has assumed a life of service to the people, savours his wide spectrum of experience in politics, as his selling point is not just his exquisite performance but in the cause of his service to humanity.
His political journey blossomed in 2008 when he was appointed the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State. He served for a second term as State Chairman in 2012 and in 2014 resigned to run for senate. In 2015, he was elected into office as a Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
The Ọchiaga Of Aniọma, SPON, since he stepped out to represent his people of Anioma land in Delta North Senatorial District, in 2015, his journey to the hallowed chamber of the National Assembly spans over 35 years of selfless services to humanity. This has however shown that he is not a newcomer in the political terrains, as he was appointed the Political Aide to the then Governor of the defunct Bendel State in 1979.
SPON ranks amongst the Founding Fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State Chapter with his role as the first State Secretary of the party in 1998 and his subsequent appointment as Political Adviser to Governor James Ibori.
As Commissioner for Agriculture, the abundant records showed the State flourished in terms of foods and agro-allied products through his numerous people-oriented policies and programmes.
It is necessary to state that his IT savvy programmes propelled his appointment as Chairman, Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Abuja.
The Golden fish cannot hide. SPON’s reign at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council presented a record as the best of years of the Council has ever witnessed under his people-oriented administration. While at the Council, he once again demonstrated his leadership dexterity.
And since, SPON has remained in politics, traversing the political landscape with assured steps.
