Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, , has been asked to take heart as he mourns his wife, Edith, who passed away on Friday last week.
A delegation of the Ijaw Community in Asaba, gave the words of consolation during a condolence visit to the Senior POLAD, who is the Patron of the group.
The Chairman of the body, Mr. Tare Ogbo, who led the delegation, said the news of the death of Mrs Edith Funkekeme Solomon came to the Ijaw Community as a shock, describing it as a big loss.
Tare Ogbo encouraged their Patron to accept the situation as the will of God, adding that he should take solace in the fact that his wife died in Christ.
The ICA Chairman assured the bereaved that the group would actively participate in the burial ceremony and prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest.
In an interview, the Publicity Secretary – elect in the inconclusive election of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Engineer Oyakemeagbegha Ezonebi, reminded Honourable Funkekeme Solomon that the death of a righteous person was the beginning of eternal life in the bosom of the Lord.
Engineer Ezonebi described the late Mrs Funkekeme Solomon as a religious, God fearing and humble woman who would be greatly missed and prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The husband of the deceased, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon had thanked the Ijaw Communty in Asaba for identifying with his family in this period of grief, saying that he had accepted the demise of his wife as the will of God.
