In a heartwarming celebration of Children’s Day, the Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation brought joy and inspiration to hundreds of children across Igbuzor and its environs. The event, held at St. Augustine College Igbuzor, was filled with laughter, music, and an array of activities designed to celebrate the potential and importance of the younger generation.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the foundation’s Founder Pastor Idowu Okeze reminded the children of their crucial role as the future leaders of Nigeria. “You are the torchbearers of our nation’s future,” “It is your responsibility to build a brighter tomorrow through good behavior, dedication to your studies, and respect for one another.”
The event, organized by the Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation, was marked by a series of engaging performances, including traditional dances, poetry recitations, relays, marathon race, Igbuzor Cultural dance and a talent show that showcased the diverse talents of children. Each performance was met with thunderous applause, highlighting the vibrant culture and creativity of Nigeria’s youth.
The Founder and President of Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation, Pastor Idowu Okeze has called on government at all levels to prioritise children’s welfare in their leadership agenda. He felicitated with Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2024 Children’s Day celebration, He described them as potential future leaders and the only hope for the nation to thrive. As Obi Okeze Foundation marks another year Children’s Day celebration, it is a fitting moment to reflect on the significant contributions the foundation has made to the education landscape and the lives of those already touched by the philanthropic endeavours of Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation.
Pastor Okeze who said the foundation is concerned about the welfare of orphans and children from vulnerable homes in Ibusa and Nigeria in general, described the Nigerian children as exceptionally gifted, brilliant and resilient who are destined for greatness.Despite the various challenges faced by children in Nigeria ranging from poor parentage, lack of educational and medical amenities, the foundation extols the struggle for survival by the average Nigerian child. He called on the Nigerian government to prioritize the welfare of children by providing security, medical, educational and social security for them.

His commitment to giving back to the community reflects a deep-seated belief in the importance of social responsibility. Apart from the foundation supporting school Children in Ibusa,Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation had also distributed school chairs and tables, instructional materials, renovated classrooms for many schools, fenced schools, scholarships, cash to mention but a few.
Pastor Okeze’s generosity has inspired others to contribute to noble causes. His philanthropic endeavours serve as a testament to the idea that success in life should be accompanied by a responsibility to uplift and empower those less fortunate. The Children’s Day celebration ended with a commitment from the Obi Joseph Okeze Foundation to continue supporting the educational and moral development of children in Igbuzor and beyond. “Together, we can nurture a generation that will lead with wisdom and compassion,” Okeze affirmed.The event was well attended by dignitaries like the wife of our Royal Majesty,our Mother and Queen,HRM Obi (Mrs)Agnes Nwoboshi,The Chairman of Delta State Health Insurance Scheme, Chief(Dr)Austin Obidi( Nshi-Nweze), The past local Government Chairman, Chief Innocent Esewezie and other personalities.As the children dispersed with their gifts, their faces beamed with hope and excitement for the future, embodying the very essence of Children’s Day.
